Salah miss pen. nunez miss 1v1 Ramsdale save from the deflection konate miss at the end Rheybwere 3 huge chances plus the Salah deflection shot which was a brilliant save. Should have ended up winning the game no doubt about it.
i said to the Mrs please let Fabinho take it not Salah but in retrospect should probably have said it to JK . At least the second half we really played and should have won it . PS much as i rate Nunez for his attitude he really really needs to start taking some of these chances
Genuinely Sky said just before they went for a break they'd show why Robbo was so pissed off at HT, I came back from the break and nothing mentioned again. Anyone actually seen it yet?
There's still desperate Clog Sparkers on social media trying to claim Robbo manhandled him - you can clearly see he absolutely does NOT.
This entirely. I don't fancy him at all in one-to-ones. That said, apparently, he was like this in his first season at Benfica too but was lethal in the next one. We'll have to see. It has to be said though, just having him on the pitch does pull defences all over the show and deffo creates room for others.
Same with Suarez. Was poor in front of goal first season then bang everything went in. Easy to say shoukd score but keepers are better than they are in other leagues so where as before didnt have to do much maybe have to be a bit smarter and it’s learning that. If he’s still missing those chances this time next season then be more worried. Salah missed plenty today. Mane used to miss many of those 1v1 chances earlier and was far better as an instinctive striker but developed. Just needs time I think
I don't recall Suarez struggling to score. He joined in January and scored a few but he certainly progressed to another level afterwards.
Trent runs over and pushes Xhaka in the chest then squares up head to head, he did not strike him and imo the correct decision is red for Xhaka and yellow for Trent
I remember he had a lot of chances but converted few in his first half-season. It seemed he needed a lot of chances to score, but after a while he could have been facing the wrong way and it would've hit his arse and gone in from the half-way line.
Yeah, I've referenced Mane too, and for those of us who are older, I can remember Rush getting into many fab positions in his breakthrough season and not finishing. I think he then started taking them early and before the goalie could get set, and that took a lot of accurate strikes into the very corners, often running at full speed. Needs a lot of practice. The ones when takes them around the keeper came later. It was more Fowler who had the touch and nerve to sit the keeper down - Studge too later. Dalglish of couse. Think Owen tended to just run past them speed in his early years.
I seem to remember him dribbling through half the United team in one of those early games but tripping over the ball as he closed in, but luckily it ran across to Kuyt who tapped it in. Van der Saar ran screaming at the lino for offside even though Kuyt was behind the ball, iirc.
