I assume that by 'stadium of ****e' you mean'Stadium of Light'. And I'd rather see a match from the SoL; I've never been to Roker, but the two times I've been to the SoL have been absolutely brilliant. And it's not named after a ****ty sports brand.
Old stadiums converted to all seater tend to be cramped, have awkward seating arrangements, limited view and generally don't work as well as purpose built all seater stadiums.

I can't emphasise enough how I used the words 'tend' and 'generally'. See, these two words were meant to imply that most old stadiums that were converted were like this, not all. Comprende? If you think it was some sort of swipe at the SDA, you are quite incorrect. It is in fact one of the better conversions, although this has more to do with the large scale redevelopments which have far removed it from its humble beginnings.
I didn't think you were making a pop at SJP, I'm am just saying that generally you are wrong and most converted stadiums tend not to have these issues.

Exactly this! I don't even like the name that much and thought it was totally wrong not to keep the Roker Park name or to use something that refered to the history of the area; either the pit or the shipyards. At the time I suggested the "Margeret Thatcher Is Dispicable ****" stadium but I don't think it got many votes. I have no problem if/when we rename it.
