The gap to the Prem is absolutely huge. Southampton are the worst team in the league and they'd easily have the best players in the Championship in my opinion. Even if you assume their best players (Ward-Prowse, Salisu, Walker-Peters) leave, in Bazunu, Bella-Kotchap, Lavia, Sulemana, Alvarez, Mara and Livramento, they'd have the most talented young players in the division and then they'd have players like Elyounoussi, Adams, Armstrong, Bednarek who have great experience to blend in. They might be the most promotion ready club to come down in fairness though as it looks like someone big is going to drop in chaos. Worst case scenario for us is Southampton and Bournemouth both coming down. I'd sooner deal with Everton, West Ham or Leicester with toxic dressing rooms and half the squad leacing.
The Super League is alive and well in England. City play some lovely football, but I don't see their trophies as achievements on the same level as those won in decades before. Hire the worlds best manager, buy him the worlds best striker, spend millions on some of the best defenders and best midfielders in the world, then for good measure, make sure you sign the best players from Villa, Leeds, Bournemouth, Leicester etc. because clubs not owned by nation states are not allowed nice things. Then show them all off in your stadium which no-one actually knows what it's called anymore, because you've artificially pumped the club full of money with "sponsorship" for so long. Football at the top has lost it's soul. It's televised entertainment to me now, not sport.
