At this point, you could fit in a phone box those who have confidence in Daniel Levy making football decisions. So, in time for today's match, the rumoured ticket price increase is put to bed and the club FINALLY announced that 'Levy is to step back from fiddling about in things he doesn't understand or doesn't want to understand'. Is this genuinely appointing someone to sort out the ****ing mess we’ve become since completing the stadium...or is it Levy appointing a human shield to protect himself from the forthcoming **** storm when Kane leaves and ENIC start building the hotel and announce an NFL franchise? Only time will tell...I hope it's the former and the fact that this one has a seat on the board means that he has real authority, not just authority to take the flak whilst Dan keeps on interfering.
Postecoglou's Australian and he's had success in Asia. Won Yokohama F. Marinos their first title in 15 years. Dirty Kevin Muscat's retained it though, so perhaps it wasn't that hard?
Yokohama F Marinos are also part of the Mansour Empire Munn is being lured away from the Mansour Empire So therefore...
He’s a human shield for Levy to hide behind when he makes his ****ed up decisions. That was my first thought…I’m basing this on watching Levy for over 2 decades. An Australian working in China…he’s not exactly Txiki Begiristain from Barca. He’s a patsy, Levy’s lakky…paid to take the flak. Levy hasn’t earnt any trust beyond this from me
It's got that look about it. Genuinely, I hope that I'm wrong. We need someone to sort the ****ing mess out, but... ...you know!
A bloke down my road has got one in his front garden...very nice to piss in on a cold night walking back from the pub.
Bloody hell, do Brighton dive and kvetch as much as they did today in every game? If so, that's surely enough to erode some of the bloom of De Zerbi's name
I'm not holding my breath but I really hope this is the first step - even if it is currently symbolic - toward the restructuring I've argued for on here quite a few times, which is in essence splitting the club into two entities - the commercial side reporting to Levy and the sporting side now reporting to Munn. And I sincerely hope the former cannot and will not interfere with the latter at executive level unless things are truly disastrous.
I'm not sure how much hope is left in the tank, the small amount is based ln desperation. I really hoped that Levy wasn't stupid enough to repeat the Mourinho madness with Conte...but that's exactly what happened. Would Levy and Lewis protect their ownership of a multi-billion pound asset by hiring a fall guy to take this summer's flak...? They'd be stupid not to. In their position, it's exactly what I'd do...so, it comes down to whether Levy's been genuinely convinced that someone else can do the job better than him...and that he's recruited the very best person to make sure that it succeeds and he doesn't get to slither back further down the line...
The fifth wealthiest club is currently fifth in the PL and that is some sort of evidence of incompetence? Why?
Perhaps because the 6th wealthiest are top and the 11th wealthiest are third. This demonstrates incompetence, plain and simple. It also demonstrates that Chelsea and Liverpool are currently even more incompetent than we are. But that isn't something I personally take any pride in.
