It was a great game and happy to say a draw was a fair result, if I’m being modest… You were outplayed second half but you fought all the way and we certainly won’t begrudge you the point. It was deserved.
Most enjoyable and what football is about Insert Danny blanchflower quote here some right fadges comments on this thread ohh This is what some wanted…. too ****jng right we did Go out and have a go ffs a game that will be remembered for a long long time
Can’t believe I missed this one! Anyway, where to start? I managed to see the starting lineup and gambled on a Tufan and Slater brace. City win at 3/1 also. Pretty pleased with how that went but could have been a lot better too! But basically, my point is, Rosenior picked the right players - quality, attacking etc. When our strikers are back, we will be a force! My analysis from the highlights is that they were very lucky to score 4, whereas we earned ours and could have had more. This is the way I want City to play because we wouldn’t have dodgy penalties/scuffed shots leading to goals against us every week. We will win more than we lose and teams will know they cannot relax. When we play keep-ball, I feel teams are happy for us to do that and it silences our crowd as it leads to hardly any chances. If we’re having drama like this every week, there’s no way we’d have quiet support. I hope this is a lesson learned and I feel we should be very positive after scoring 4 at an away game in front of 40,000+. UTT!
he had a cracking game, I’d have him kicking around the squad next year but as a starter we need better to be pushing top 6 imo.
What stands out for me in the capability of our players to keep going in a stadium of 40k hostile home supporters and fight to the end to get the reward. Shows we have real character.
Right load of bollocks Hull City player ratings at Sunderland as Tigers snatch stunning draw It was quite a game at the Stadium of Light this evening Barry Cooper please log in to view this image Allahyar Sayyadmanesh #9 of Hull City celebrates with Dimitrios Pelkas (Image: Mark Cosgrove/News Images) Ozan Tufan's stoppage-time penalty earned Hull City a dramatic 4-4 draw at Sunderland, in a game that ebbed and flowed like no other in the Tigers' campaign. City hit the front after just 11 minutes when Ozan Tufan slammed in the opener from Regan Slater's pass, and then ensured probably the most chaotic four minutes of the season. Sunderland roared back to score twice inside a minute through Joe Gelhardt and then Amad, only for City to level up when Dimitrios Pelkas' shot was parried into the path of Allahyar to crash in. READ MORE: Ozan Tufan salvages dramatic point for Hull City in Good Friday thriller at Sunderland Regan Slater powered City in front only for the hosts to go 4-3 up with a controversial penalty from Amad and then a Jack Clarke strike, before Ozan converted his penalty deep into added time. Here's how City reporter Barry Cooper rated the Tigers' players at the Stadium of Light: Karl Darlow: Didn't look at all comfortable early on, with both goals in particular. Got close to the penalty but should have done better with the fourth goal. 5/10 Sean McLoughlin: A tough, tough night. Didn't play all that badly despite the goals against. Had to withstand a fair amount of balls into his box. 6/10 Jacob Greaves: Had a tough first period on the left side against the tricky Amad, went to centre back after Coyle's exit. 5/10 Alfie Jones: Had a rough night in the heart of that defensive unit. For me, was unfortunate with the penalty because that looked like a dive from Jack Clarke. 6/10 Lewie Coyle: Badly exposed against Jack Clarke in the first half, couldn't get near him. Battled like the warrior he is, but this was a poor night before he went off injured. 5/10 Join the conversation Add to the comments below to share your thoughts Read the Comments Jean Michael Seri: Some good stuff, and some not-so-good stuff. Involved in both City's early goals, and had his pocket picked for the Sunderland opener. Sacrificed late on. 6/10 Regan Slater: Should have made it 2-0 just before their opener when his first-time effort was repelled by Patterson. Brilliant industry to fashion the opening and then finish for City's third. Won the penalty. 8/10 Ozan Tufan: Brilliant, unerring finish to put City in front. Battled so hard throughout, put in a real shift in what was a hugely open game throughout. Great composure to score the penalty. 8/10 Dimitrios Pelkas: His shot was saved before falling kindly to Allahyar to smash in the net to haul City back level. Quite a game to return in. 6/10 Allahyar Sayyadmanesh: Excellent going forward first half, really good finish - and it wasn't easy. Plenty of running throughout as City threatened on numerous occasions. 6/10 Adama Traore: Involved in both goals amid a crazy opening period. Showed some real good balance again, his movement is good and he took a battering at one point. 6/10 Substitutes: Greg Docherty (on for Pelkas 57): Showed plenty of determination and energy in what was a second half played out in similar fashion to the first. 6/10
Not really sure why your dragging me into it but seen as you did.... We played very differently yesterday compared to last week, it was obvious to anyone who was at both games that a fair few little changes added up to a very different approach by the team. This isn't a dig before you start....it's just fact, but watching it on tv is very different to watching it live, you see a lot more off the ball, our movement, tempo etc.. just the full picture and view of the game is better. And just one last thing, who spinning anything about yesterday's game/result against Rosie? It was nice to watch an open entertaining game which could have gone either way but I don't think either team can grumble at a draw.
Baz Cooper must’ve been looking down at his Twitter feed when Darlow made an incredible save at 3-4 to keep us in the game. 5/10 my arse.
Most of bazs ratings are ****e, tbf most of his content re city is. Darlows positioning on their 4th goal was questionable, but he'll know that and will work on it. But as you say his save earlier was incredible. Baz, like Hull live full stop should just be ignored. His&their content is designed and written to create divide and then clicks and comments etc.... Absolute bottom feeders
I think we had it good with Phil Buckingham, a proper journalist who for whatever reason was allowed to do proper journalism - at a time when proper journalism was needed I suppose, under the fun and games of the previous owners. Feels like Cooper phones it in, metaphorically, in comparison.
Fantastic save, which along with his over contributions during the game show just how stupid his rating by baz is
