Here and now. Given the Tories , as you said have had 2 thirds of the time frame and ****ed it all up. We need change. We will get it too. Country and finally seen through the corrupt sleaze of the Tories.
Good post marra, every parties policies should be praised or criticised, and not judged on their rosette, which quite frankly is juvenile and sad
They’ve had 2 thirds of the time because Labour have f ucked it up, no other reason unless you can think of one.
There won't be any change from a party whose only apparent policy is not being the Tories - as indicated by their ads telling us all about the Tories rather than themselves - and we'll be swapping one flavour of sleaze and corruption for another.
Just to make it clear I was guilty of this behaviour in my teens and twenties , but I think the majority on here are past their adolescent years
Labour will get in to power at the next election for one reason only, because so many people will vote for them because they don't want the tories in. It won't be because they are a fantastic party with policies that will help rebuild the country and get us out of this mess, it is because people can probably see that the tories will possibly make things even worse. It shows what a sorry state this country is in when no other party is able to start and compete when the 2 major players are so obviously incapable of running this country properly. When it comes to election day so many floating voters will put the cross in the Labour box quite simply to keep the tories from no10
*checks notes* Labour 97-10. And before that *checks notes* Tories 79-97 It's the one constant in politics. The flavour may be different, who's bunging the money may be different - I'd guess at the chinese for the incoming government, but it's always there.
Well as it stands I am voting Liberal. About time we had a liberal party of note again. I am hopeful a lot of floating voters do the same. I think lots of people will see straight through this new distasteful aggression from Labour. They ate looking more and more like the tories we all want shot of.
The convoluted reasoning some give for having voted tory, who have seriously fcuked things up, but now don't know what to do
Because they have defended them to the hilt and are now doubling down, despite all evidence to the contrary, so as not to make themselves look stupid. The Tories didn't vote themselves in did they?
Ok mate. As it goes, I am happy with the decision that I made at the last General Election. You see, because I don't cling to old-fashioned and inaccurate biases, based on outdated ideas of class, I give myself the luxury of being able to change my mind when I think its time for a change of government. I am free of the petty prejudices and assess the merits of the different parties at the time that it counts, not on some grievance from 75 years ago. I avoid the hand-wringing when the party I "support" inevitably becomes unfit to govern and I don't need the self-affirmation of being able to say "told you so, told you so" when the "enemy" party inevitably becomes unfit to govern. In short, I am able to take part in the democratic process fully.
It must be awful to be stuck in the dark ages, although it makes it very easy to make the decision so you don’t get a clip round the ear off your mam
Labour will win two GE's and then the Tories will get back in. It's always been this way and will continue to do so. Are you claiming we are now heading towards Labour ruling us for decades or even forever?
I'm not sure anything trumps the lies and corruption the Labour government were complicit in to invade the Middle East. Millions of lives changed for the worse. We are still dealing with the consequences of that to this day.
That's pretty much the same for everyone, when B'liar joined Bush in the Iraq war. I was living in London at the time and was in the so called million people march, the idea of WMDs was stupid. Equally preposterous is the notion that the Tories are best for the working stiff. That's just delusion, or often perhaps some 'liberal' policy on say sexuality has pizzed them off or they are being attracted by dog whistle policies etc. Even in the latest budget there was a help for the rich for their pensions. Then Thatcher, privatisation... water, power, rail, all that is crumbling. These policies effects working folk more. As for housing, nothing wrong with someone buying their own council house, which they have been renting for years. But what you do not do is not use the proceeds to bribe voters with tax cuts so they will vote for you. The proceeds should have been used to build more housing... and why the fcuk should it be called 'social housing'. I have my son and his 2 kids living with us atm cos of the problems with housing.
The only government ever worth mentioning is the current one that's governing our lives .. ... going back decades is like blaming Malcolm Crosby for Hull's late penalty.
