You must have been on the lash well before the game started and it's affected your vision. Gelhardt was good.

I hate to say this but Neil seems to be turning things around at Stoke. They're looking like a good team, with a good manager and if they've got good money to spend then they'll be in the top 6 next season.

I'd be gutted to lose Stewart anyway, but to a Championship rival would be especially difficult. I'm also a little worried that we don't get 8 figures for him, given he has a year left on his contract and is coming off the back of a serious injury.

Stewart won't get a PL move due to his injuries. 2
    Massive ones this season.

From a physical perspective, the jury is out. Torn quad and snapped Achilles are just huge to consider when you need a player for 40 games a year.

We will not finish play offs like. Not close. 10-12th. Good return for first season in championship. Play off was gone the second the transfer window closed.

Says the guy who grew up supporting Sunderland and then jumped ship to NUFC during the Keegan days. We only acknowledge the opinions of proper football boys and girls on here <ok>

To some especially negative 'fans' perhaps, but it wasn't for me . . . . I've really enjoyed this season.

I wonder why it was 'gone' as soon as the window closed :emoticon-0112-wonde

I’ve thought this for a while now but held back from mentioning it but now you have…

Stewart came to us injured and he’s spent at least half his time at the club in the physio room. If we can get 15 million for him or even more take the money and run. He’s a brilliant player, premier league quality but that’s no good to us if he’s constantly in and out of the team and I’m confident we can replace him.

If the price isn't right for the club we shouldn't sell but I agree no way is he hitting 8 figures! Been injured most of this season so there are big questions over him in that department now and latest is a bad injury. I keep telling myself the lad is intelligent enough go know he can shine here and should stick it out another season or so see if he can stay injury free and attract some premier league interest!

We won't get that. Won't get double figures.

I have enjoyed this season too. Was staying to my brother yday after the game , it's been fun. Just an opportunity missed.

I do like how you constantly seem to dig me out though lad. It's a good read. Consistent.

I feel like the play offs were always going to be tough there’s alot of teams with bigger squads than us up there, agree it’s disappointing given we had a real chance to push on and get there but still been an enjoyable season and I’m absolutely buzzing for next year few minor tweaks to the squad and no reason we can’t be top 6

2 teams with not a recognised striker between them and produce a 8 goal thriller.

From a neutral perspective it was a tremendous game.
Our defence had an off day. Our forwards had a good day. To be fair at least Hull had a go. Ref was decent (surprisingly) and it was just a massive kick in the town halls the last second penalty.
The players will hopefully learn and we move on.
Already achieved what I wanted for the season and that was consolidation in this league. We have managed that very comfortably indeed.
Time to experiment now methinks with the players that will be here next season. No pressure on any games now just go out and enjoy it.

It wasn't so much a dig at Stoke who are, as you say, unfortunately doing well, but that leaving Sunderland at this point in time for a sideways move and a few more quid would be foolish and shortsighted.

I'm sure the wages we're offering are solid and we must be an attractive place to be for players who like to play football and who have premier league ambitions.

Agree. I have no knowledge of the physiology, but I did my achilles in the long ago. It's a bad injury, and if I was Ross' agent, I'd be telling him to sign right now.
He should be okay. But he might lack a bit of spring. Not much to a midfielder but horrible for a centre forward.

On that though, he is 27 in July and he needs to make enough cash to keep him out of the general workplace so to speak. But with his injuries this year, he should stay where he is IMO.

It's is height too. I was talking to someone yday about it , in detail. Achilles is not a good one when your a very tall, thin individual. Lower leg flexibility and eccentric to concentric contractions don't work as effective. That's a big issue. Rehab going to be massive.

That's why no PL club will be spending 10 m on him.

I was told about the tall thing when I hurt mine in the eighties. I'm not tall mind, but the physio who helped me said that would help me recover.

I was ****e anyway so it didn't matter, but it does to Ross.
