It takes two teams to have a game like that. Rotherham were very tight defensively, Sunderland were very open and we seemed to both play into each other's hands. Against teams like Rotherham you have to take an early chance to open the game up and we didn't do that.

Did you miss the 4-4 against Swansea a few seasons ago?

Scoring first is so important for entirely this reason.

But then equally so is stopping the other team scoring first.

Devastated I had to miss it.

The irony indeed. At least they seem to have got the ffp message and that Acun is spunking significant coin. Not that he's skint and it's the KLP money.

Have been able to watch the full game replay at 9am my time because it was televised so we have the games on demand. Such a huge difference and something Sky really needs to sort in the next rights package.

I thought it was the best game for the club for a number of players - Tufan, Traore, Ally, Slater - all put in tremendous shifts and looked really promising going forward. Granted Sunderland largely allowed that with the way they set up and left huge amounts of space for Ally to work his way into, but he still had to take advantage of that and looked really good. It shows if we can be more dominant in games and open sides up, we do have the personnel to capitalise on that. Tufan's goal was brilliantly taken and was the result of a great passing move from Traore and Slater. More evidence of our improved attacking play under Rosenior for those asking for evidence of improvement!

Slater's goal was well taken too with a striker's finish blasting it into the net. For all the stick he gets, time and again he finds himself in pockets of space to take advantage of, and won us a penalty in similar circumstances. I'll never accept the criticisms of him and he's firmly entrenched as the new Ashbee/Meyler in terms of dividing the fans.

Ally's goal was opportunistic but he was there to finish it and that should hopefully do him the world of good confidence wise.

I can't help but wonder what if Pelkas's effort had found its way into the back of the net given the capitulation right after that. Credit to the players though for not sinking into their boots at 2-1 down and fighting back to go 3-2 up. Rosenior has instilled self-belief and confidence in this group and while we won't score 4 every week people need to acknowledge how much improved we are under him. If Acun is going to make a decision on Rosenior's future in the summer, this game perfectly sums up both the attacking potential and resilience that Rosenior has brought into this group.

For what it's worth I thought their penalty was incredibly soft while ours was stonewall. We say it every week just about, but on another day we win that game comfortably.

I enjoyed it but not going to let a draw from a 98th minute penalty distract from our current problems

I mean we played with Longman up top in the reverse Rotherham fixture and it was one of our best performances this season but it didn't work last week.

Yesterday's game was different as Sunderland came with ambition not just with the intention of defending deep.

He didn't change his tactics, I don't know how anyone can watch Rotherham and Sunderland performances and think he did. Howden liking this post is quite a strange one too. Seems some seem intent on spinning things against Rosenior no matter what the result. Shame.

Yep, Sunderland giving us space for Ally to run into doesn't mean we set up differently, we just had more opportunities and space.

There was a tactical shift. A triple spurred rotating false 9. Rosenior actually talked it up as something they'd worked on in the post match presser.

It worked well in an attacking sense just lost a bit of defensive structure on transition.

But 2 good teams slogged it out today. Shared 8 goals without a recognised striker on the pitch.

That was a classic. Don't care about the result. Even if it was 4-3. We still performed.

I thought the dynamic front three had more to do with benching Ebiowei and starting Pelkas than any inherent change in tactics. Pelkas and Ally can play across the front three, Ebiowei can't, so that seemed more personnel driven. We still worked the ball forward in the exact same way, there was no change in our pace or our attacks, we just had more opportunity and time in the final third because of the space left on the wings to get in behind. If Rosenior is working on ways to improve our attacking play then that should be praised, not condemned as him having a weak character which is a bizarre criticism.

Have I suggested Rosie is weak or is that a general comment?

And if you listen to this, then you'll understand what they have tried to do differently in midweek with the forward line in the absence of a natural striker.

Reflections on the game, without the errors, and the goals we did score, we should have come away with all 3 points. All our goals were well crafted, and beautifully executed, whereas at least 2 of there's were our mistakes plus the penalty they got was a dive by them. So we should take a lot of positives from the result.

Having said that, on the balance of play probably a fair result, even though we did give them a leg up.

Traore is the missing link in midfield, with him and Seri dictating play the future looks bright. Slater was excellent again, he works his socks off, with no shortage of skill to go with it. We are starting to see what Liam is working towards, Slater's goal against Reading, and then Tufan's goal and Allyahyar's as well as Slater's own, really nice goals on the eye.

Tufan is now the player we expected, he seems to have found the fitness and robustness needed in the Championship. Clearly has great skill, and took the pressure penalty with aplomb. A word for Docherty, who took a leaf out of Newcastle's book, and took the ball as if he was the one taking the penalty and took the sledging before the penalty was to be taken, then just handed the ball to Tufan, well done him!

It really would have been a travesty not to have come away with at least a point, but great credit to the boys who never gave it up.

On to Millwall, with the quick turnaround, it will be interesting to see how this game plays out, I think the use of the subs could be crucial.

You need to understand how a forum works. I quoted someone who questioned Rosenior's character, and referred to it again in the above post. Not everything is a direct response to you.

if they're trying new things in the final third then great, but my comment was on our general style of play which was on show again. It was what the players in the final third did with it that was improved. None of which suggests he changed his philosophy because Acun was frustrated with the Rotherham result.

No I understand that. I didn't see a direct *QUOTE*to someone sledging Rosie in your post and was asking a question not having a dig.

I'm on your side when it comes to Rosie.

But I will claim a win on the FFP stuff.

Can we call it quits now please princess?
