Some of the football first half was beautiful.... if Slaters shot goes in and they didnt score 10 seconds later we could have run riot today.... as it was we didnt...
Yeah man, the way they talked about the Sunland one like he'd chopped him at the knees..... irritating
Can we stop with this daft relegation talk? We'll pick up another 5-7 points. That means Reading, QPR, Cardiff and Hudds would all have to win 4/6 to catch us. We're fine.
Oh, FFS we were relegation certs in October now we've put 4 past Sunderland away in a game they had to win in front of 40k and the sky cameras. And if we are the team who's scored more in the last 15 than anyone else then surely that's a positive?
You know what, it wasn't perfect, and you can pick fault til ya heart comes home, but what a cracking game of football, really enjoyed that ( wouldn't if we'd have lost !)
didn't go as i was a bit young, but remember there was another 4-4 that day. derby v man u. just watched the goals on youtube. derby 2-0 up, then 2-3 down, then 4-3 up, then 4-4.
Just skipped back a few pages too whilst the match was on for a fair reflection. Sounds like it was an absolute ****ter, glad I missed it.
That was such a great game to watch compared to our 0.0 with Rotherham. End to end on the floor football, some quick breaks from both sides, loads of goals and a good deserved point at the end. Really enjoyed it.
I know we all see City games through different lenses, but I do wonder what the 'Slater is ****e' brigade were thinking when they watched that game.
Bonkers game, obviously. It's strange how some games can be so open while others are so cagey. Today it seemed like every time the ball was turned over it turned into a big chance. Our attacking play was so much more clinical than usual. The final pass and finish was actually good for once. The first goal was a beauty, from our own goal kick, another case study in how it can work if done well, and what a strike from Ozan. Second goal again was a lovely move, I initially thought Traore was wrong to ignore Allahyar in space out wide but he'd actually picked out a better pass as it turned out (he's doing those incisive through balls a lot by the way, I really like him) and Allahyar's finish was very tidy. Slater's scrapping and then finish for the third was brilliant, and then for the fourth when that ball came out to Traore we were so composed, he could've just slung it back in and hoped for the best but he was smart, took his time to find space with the help of Ebiowei I think, and then found Slater in a yard of space, and he was really smart as well with the feint and turn. He was looking for the penalty but that's just modern football, and it was a clear pen. If we had that level of clinical finishing and final ball every week we'd be in the promotion mix right now.
Hull boss Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside: "I'm lost for words. The first 20-to-25 minutes was everything I want to see in a team of mine. Then we get so complacent and confident that we gift them two goals out of absolutely nothing. We showed persistence and resilience to get back in the game and went 3-2 up through an unbelievable goal from Regan. "This game probably sums up our season - it was nowhere near a [Sunderland] penalty. Then we go back on the front foot, give a cheap pass away and, three passes later from a throw-in, it's in our goal and we're chasing the game. "That's one of the most enjoyable games I've been a part of. Tony showed so much class - just before we took the penalty, he said 'you don't deserve to lose the game.' Hopefully we enjoy ourselves with three points in the bag in future." Sunderland boss Toeknee Meltonmowbraypie declined to comment as he still looked like he's sucking a live wasp... EDIT... Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray told BBC Radio Newcastle: "It was a slow start from a few of the players. We had words at half-time to liven up and we were much better in the second half, when I can't really remember them getting near our goal. "We are learning at the coalface as we go along. That's a harsh lesson today - for example, for Pierre to make a tackle in the box right at the death. Just stand up and make the guy do something, don't put a lazy leg out. "We're playing against teams with much more experience in the league. For 20 minutes we looked like we'd never played together, but once we got it together it was a good performance. There is lots to be pleased about and work on."
