Potter had the bad fortune to follow Tuchel, who might be a mentalist and a bit of hard work for an owner, but he is genuinely top drawer. Few managers would have been an improvement. But Potter has done well enough for this not to de-rail him, though my impression of him at Brighton was that his team liked to sit on a lead a bit too much. But anyway, close on £600m in a few months is completely bonkers, and I can't see how any coach is supposed to work well in a place where that's going on.
I know people love to believe English managers get the rough end of the deal but they regularly fail when they're given the chance of managing a big club. Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, Sol Campbell, etc, were all supposed to be world class players who'd become world class managers .... where are they now?
I think he's the best appointment for them. There'll be plenty of links with Nagelsmann, Poch and Zidane but Enrique is the one I'd go for if I was Chelsea. Nagelsmann will be a better fit for Spurs.
Yeah, I think those 2 will get the jobs. Would like to see Zidane in the PL to see how he gets on though.
I am struggling to think of a more stupid and ridiculous appointment ever. This is a farce. Lampard man. Good for standing with his hands in his pockets looking bemused is about all he is good at.
