These three fixtures will conclude our November after the low of Blackpool and the high of Leicester. I still don't think consistency's that important for a playoff-chasing team at this stage of the season and it's good to charge them late, but three wins here would show we really mean business and are looking for an auto place going into the busy Christmas period and January transfer window. I can see us beating Burnley due to our excellent away form and the defence looking a lot more solid, but then typical a weeknight showings against Forest and a typical derby one against Barnsley. After looking like we might be turning our evening peformances around with energetic displays against Hull, Donny and Forest, we've seen some dross results and showings when we played Coventry, Brum and Blackpool. Looks like last season's Floodlight Headache will be continuing. Burnley: 0-2 to the Whites. Barnsley: 2-3 to the Tykes. Forest: 1-1. So four points out of nine is my prediction. What's everyone else feeling about these three?
18, if SG has top 2 as his aim & target, this has to be 9pts for us, 7 at worst. These are all winnable games.
I've said 6 points, two wins against Burnley & Barnsley and a loss at forest although we could sneak a draw
we are better than Forest, and i think we will beat them now as give it a few more months Cotterill will have them well drilled and will prob be a harder task at Elland Road! But at this moment in time i can see us beating them. We have a good record at the city ground and would expect it to continue Barnsley will be crazy, but can see them sacking there gaffer if we beat them. Burnely as well, i can see eddie howe getting the boot if we beat them
We are better than all these teams, and they are all winnable games. I would be happy with 6/7 points though, as Forest will always be a tough game and Barnsley will be a typical Yorkshire derby. I'll predict 7 points with a draw against Forest.
You all seem very optimistic about our weeknight performances-to-be! For me, we don't have a deep enough squad to be able to rotate it effectively and that's causing us problems (as we saw in our last three evening outings). I agree that all these teams are beatable if you compare the ability of the two squads, but will we have the stamina and mental strength to close these games out?
I would be happy with 5 points from the 3 games at this stage of the season. That is playoff form keeping us near to the top 6. For Auto promotion most teams go for 2 pts average per game over a period. So if we could step up from a pretty poor run of 4 pts from last 4 games (or 7pts from last 5) then out chances of even playoff would improve. We do have a run 5 AWAY games over the next 8 and I for one would be happy, even delighted to get 14 or 15 pts.
The team are schizo so it depends which one runs out onto the pitch. Can't see midweek games being wins for us still though. I note we don't seem to up our game for derbies. PS where has Lesta Gangsta gone? Anyone remove him or something......
He's still allowed to post, just busy winding up the Hull fans at the moment. He'll return to his natural home forum soon enough.
2 of the last 3 weeknight outings were entirely the fault of one player. The rest of the players looked the same as they've always looked, clueless but somehow in control. I wasn't at Birmingham so I can only speculate, was the goal chubs fault? I heard we dominated the game.
i reckon they are all winnable games, i have a bad feeling about barnsley though for some reason. I'd be happy with 6 points but if we are going for autos all of these games should be won. And to be fair if it was one game a week, all on saturday, i would expect us to win every one of these games.
we dominated possession but did **** all with it, rachubka could have part blame put on him for zigics goal, not like any f his blackpool blunders but should have palmed the ball well away
I predict 4 points but would be happy with 5 I think Barnsley will do us, a draw with Forest and a win against Burnley
At some point in the season we will have to string five or six wins in a row together if we are serious promotion contenders, which I don't believe we are. It might as well be with a bunch of teams from bottom third in the table
