Going to be quite critical of that actually, whilst it's technically very good special effects wise, some of the camera angles are very amateurish as well as the 'floating' camera technique being overused throughout the majority of the film. The floating camera can be good to a degree but when excessively used like it was there, it takes away from the overall experience of what's going on. Also, some of the saturation was unnatural at times which is such a schoolboy error in film.

@ Mifune, Gareth Edwards went to my college, he's apparently coming in to give a talk to my group later this year <ok>

I don't know why but I never checked City of Men out, I just thought it would be a let down and I didn't want anything to ruin the memory of City of God. I remember pausing it after Benni got shot and having a smoke, just so i could extend the film that little bit more.

I'm not really a huge fan of Y Tu Mama Tambien, i can appreciate it and the main guy (what's his name, the good looking one) is a brilliant actor but i wasn't bowled over by it.

I'm making a film at the minute, taking a lot longer than we thought it would take but we have a non-existent budget so it's difficult. Neil Bell from Dead Mans Shoes play the main character and a few other actors who are fantastic. It's only since i've worked with them that i've appreciated how difficult acting is. I'd post a trailer we've done but it's a really rough-cut and i might get in trouble!

As for dead mans, it's deffo a classic but room for romeo wins it for me because of the final scene which was hard to watch the first time i vidded it.

What's Young ****ing people and what kind of thing is it Skalpel? I'd be interested to watch it. Is it comedy?

Young People ****ing is a comedy set around the various stages people go through when having sex, it follows 4 or 5 couples. As I said, not really indie in the traditional sense but I really enjoyed it.

So did I. Very impressive that the guy managed to make such a visually good film on such a small budget, but the fact that there was next to no script and it was ad-libbed becomes all too apparent. I just couldn't stay interested in the story and kept drifting off.

Hopefully he will add in a decent storyboard to his next film.
