I have no doubt at sometime in the very near future the SOL will also have a sponsored name attached to it and I don't have any issue with this but I also firmly believe it will retain the stadium of light in that naming as well.

Selling advertising or sponsorship rights is one thing. Selling your very soul for some money in a big bag is another. That this is money that will just fill the owners pocket as well, makes it all the sweeter.

Thanks agent ashley for once again giving us something to brighten our day. Laughing at the craas is something the whole country enjoys doing and no one single person has been responsible for inflicting so many humiliations than wor ashley.

    :D

Its not nice to gloat, still if we must, I agree. Why is gloating so bad but so enjoyable.

If your original comment made any sense then you could say I was taking the bait, but when you made a mistake, just makes you a fool.

And Syd, I am chilled. Had we been in a terrible league position like yourselves though, I may feel different ;)

Football is unfortunately going this way and although your stadium is relatively new, it would still be a shame to see a sponsor plastered all over your ground. SJP has been there for 119 years, so this is quite a kick in the teeth for us, and kicks the thought that they had an ounce of care for the club to the curb. No more Sid James...for now.

Speaking of naming stands after STD's, I remember going to Stoke the first year they came up, the stand at the side with two tiers had 'Problems with Chlamydia?' boards plastered all the way across the divide.

Still better then having the stadium turned in to a housing estate, having some burnout car resting in the penalty area

I've just got up from nightshift and had this hilarious dream that The Skunks renamed their stadium after Mike Ashley's cheap shops...If only it were true eh...<laugh>

That **** name is stuck with your club from now on.

Keep enjoying your moment in the sunshine. Theres a frosty, chill winter wind to blow on the EPL yet.

I look forward to Seeing where all the clubs are come May 2012.

Would you rather watch slumderland in a all seater stadium at Roker park with 100 years of history and a new commercial name or at the stadium of s*ite

Roker Park had had its day when we moved and due to location, could never have been successfully refurbished or rebuilt.

The Stadium of Light (you misspelled it there chum Lol) is a magnificant stadium, so much so that FIFA have deemned it a 4 star one, and never fails to impress and wow me, even now after nearly 15 years.

I loved Roker Park and I love the SOL and luckily, we have never had a complete twat rename either of them a stupid friggin piss taking name like the SPorts Direct ****hole. Lol
