Southampton host title chasers Manchester City. Erling Haaland missed the last game with injury, it would be good if he was out again. Although they still scored 4 last time out. Will we keep it below 9? Discuss…

The only positive I can think of is that City won’t sit back in two banks of 4 and ask us to play through them. Although Liverpool were well beaten by City, last week, they exposed how open City’s defence is to a quick counter, so hopefully we will have the balls to include Sulemana, for his pace, and Alcaraz for his willingness to make forward runs, beyond the strikers. We also need to be bolder when in possession. If JWP is told to sit back, as he seemed to have been told on Sunday, then we won’t be helping ourselves going forward. Stuart got a lot of stick for losing possession on Sunday, but a lot of the time he lost the ball after having beaten a player and then had nobody to play the ball to. JWP needs to be getting far enough forward to be that option for a pass, instead of being back in the centre circle. The masochist in me says, “we expect to lose, so just go for it” and play a 4-1-3-2 formation when in possession and 4-4-2 when not, which will probably be for 85% of the game.
We've got a better chance of scoring if JWP hands over his corner kicks to someone else and tall Paul is playing??
We are down, Might aswell at least have a go. Play both our quick wingers., start Alcaraz with Adams. See what happens.
The only thing about this that really gets me is the 17.30ko. Any ecstasy or other emotions I prefer much earlier along with other results. Evening ko's is another form of thumb screw torture this year in particular!!
Yeah know what you mean but silver lining for me. Once footie finished going to have a takeaway & beer walk with my son to Brook to see Foo Forgers smash it. Meeting a few friends there also so brill afternoon & evening of entertainment.
This season is over. Try to enjoy the last friendlies against big clubs. We won’t see these kinds of players for a whlle!
