Yeah. The reason I've been convinced since the Wolves defeat that we're going down has never been because I fear the other sides or we've been cut too adrift. It's solely because I have zero faith in us. We're not good enough.

West Ham didn't need to play well to beat us. Forest didn't need to play well to beat us. Leeds didn't need to play well to beat. Everton scored two quick ones at SMS, but did nothing else for the rest of the game, and yet beat us. The away game to Villa was one of the worst games, from both sides, I have ever seen - and they beat us. The home game wasn't exactly a classic either; another defeat. (Somewhat ironically, Leicester were far superior against us and should have comfortably won, but lost.)

Or maybe not. FA appealing on the basis the punishment is too lenient.

The results against Leicester and Spurs gave me hope that it might be possible however the fact that we have been makg similar mistakes for over a year just makes me think that there is something about the culture within the club that needs a new broom. I cannot see us escaping and think we will remain bottom by quite a large margin.

It will be interesting to see how SR deal with the changes in the Championship next season. There will certainly be a clear out beyond the playing staff and think that we will go for a new manager and a complete change to the coaching staff. Not sure that anyone can pick up the rabble at the moment and feel that it will not only be the "star" players who will move on. It will be a big call to do the necessary to envigorate Southampton next season and I feel that it will be beyond SR. When it comes to making beig decisions, they have failed so far. SR have become as much of the problem as a potential solution. We just need people at the top who know what they are doing so that the confidence will filter down. You wonder how the board's appointment and support for Nathan Jones can get any respect whatsover from the playing staff.

Two points between seven teams is tight enough as it is. But if Leicester were to get a second, it becomes one point between seven teams. Crazy.

I guess Forest losing is good for us as they are one of only 2 teams with a worse GD than us.

Call me a mug, but until it's mathematically certain, I will retain at least some hope.

A horrific four days for Forest. Their remaining fixture list is so unkind, that they badly needed more than one point from their two matches against Wolves and Leeds.

I'm going with us, Forest and one other. (Leicester v Bmouth on Saturday could have a big bearing on who that "other" is.)

Can't really argue with those results tonight. Keeps us in it (just).

Us Leicester and Bournemouth. It’s just the order.

Will our team play out of their skins to turn 20th into 18th?
