I hope so. I know we’re clutching at straws now but anything that can secure our Championship status is welcome.
Makes the Raingate affair even more annoying. Never mind, at least it's all still in our hands to determine our Championship status. Just hope we're up to it. Bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobirds
Still very much in our own hands, even more so now that Reading have been sucked well and truly into the mix due to their financial transgressions. 3 teams above us within 3 points of us, 2 of which we have a game in hand over, the other IS that game in hand back up in the Lake District of Yorkshire... a team we now massively "owe one" to. I don't think anyone else's fixtures are particularly any easier than our own either. If (and it is a big if as always) we can win on Friday that will pretty much cut Blackpool adrift from us (7 points with us having a game in hand), then we just need to make sure we pick up a few more points than Hudders and we are safe!! Easy
So it's 5 away games and 3 at home to come. The only games we wouldn't expect to get anything from are the three away games at Sheff Utd, Watford and Burnley - if we get a single point from those 3 fixtures it would be a huge bonus. So what have we got left? Away at Blackpool on Friday and the rearranged away trip to Roger 'em - there must be somethng to be got from those two if just to deny them the three points. Just the three home games against Sunderland, Stoke and Huddersfield. Win 2 of them at the CCS and I reckon we'll be OK.
What's encouraging still is that form wise over the last 6 games, 2 of the 3 teams below us are still in worse form and then Reading and QPR are also in really poor shape right now (Reading no win in 6, QPR just the 1). Huddersfield are only above us in the form table by 1 point after their back to back wins. For the sake of some rain and a few seconds less play we could well have still been above them too.... Still remaining (fairly) confident!
Dispiriting news but predictable. As for ODowda & Etete there’s only a few days before Sunderland game
