March 2018, I arrive in a snow covered Heathrow, bus cancelled to Swansea, how do I get there - train (if they are still running they say), ok Heathrow to Reading, wait wait wait change platform 3-4 times - will the train arrive and make it to Swansea, I left Brisbane it was 33 degrees that day, I was freezing, young fella notices this and said come with me, he showed me a heater, I was in heaven until the train finally arrived - I love Reading station lol

This is the kind of thing that I believe kind of backs up my previous comments about Cardiff being a "bigger" club than the Jacks and why the mentalities between the two sides are different.

Swansea definitely have the "small club" mentality for these games but also use it well to fire themselves up for it as well.

Again, disclaimer here is I'm not in any way trying to state that bigger is better. The results and respective league positions speak for themselves.

Anyway, we move on to Blackpool next.. that has become our biggest game of the season now after the result on the weekend.

We’ve got the JB’s next and we haven’t beaten them for years. I fear the worse again

No more than I would expect from our little cousins. Nothing in Harris' or Kipre's pre match comments that any footballer would not say before a derby game.

Their domination won't last indefinitely and when the situation swings in our favour I'm sure we will make the most if it.

I just hope that if/when that day comes again that we don't sink to these low depths as a club and we take victory in our stride with some decent grace.

To be honest, I’m not a lover of the ‘crowing’ that has come from either of the ‘doubles’ - better to be gracious in defeat and magnanimous in victory.

As we all know, the wheel will turn ….

    Cheers Taff <cheers>

Don't get me wrong, I fully expect and anticipate the banter and ribbing that will come from the fans, that's par the course and accepted. To see this actually come from the club themselves though does seem a little too much / ungracious... I can only assume Lee Trundle and Alan Tate work in your media department nowadays :emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0140-rofl:

When I get home there are a couple of Bluebirds that I will most certainly be ‘ribbing’ but just the once and in good spirits - I know that they will take it in that same good spirit.

As for Tate, he is with Cooper at Forest - didn’t he receive a red card last Saturday along with the Wolves Asst Manager? <cheers>

I think that this was the first time that I saw the Swans play Cardiff - back in 1970 in a Welsh Cup Semi-Final: I was 12 years and 4 months (in 2 days <laugh>)

    25 April 1970

    Welsh Cup Semi Final replay

Swansea City 0 Cardiff City 2 (after extra time)

Cardiff City Davies; Carver, Murray, Harris, Bell; Lea (Toshack), Sutton, King (1), Bird (1); Clark, Woodruff

I’m guessing that the goalie is Fred Davies rather than Lyn Davies? Just checked, Lyn left you in 1968.

I played football with Lyn 6 years later in the Neath League and Welsh League. I remember he scored from his own penalty area in one game for us<cheers>

A lovely guy and a Swans fan I would add <cheers>
