I'll ignore the attempted covid distraction and stick to the topic at hand. The claim that there have been few cases of voter fraud is discussed at length in various reports, not just UK based. The evidence suggests that it is difficult to prove to a legal standard, but that based on the available information it is likely to be an issue in the UK. The requirement for ID simply means that that potential is reduced. It also costs little if anything to do.
