See when you say this - "BTW I can't wait to see kelleher go. we have two better than him coming up" - it's hard to see the love in your heart. :)

It was more important to sell those top players to bring in the top sums at that time but the pandemic ****ed us over.

Klopp saying talks were very positive regarding summer transfers during the break. Sounds like Bellingham, Ugarte, Koné all on their way here.

Although I could be reading too much into it .. <whistle>

I think the owners will have to pony up this summer, not just for the team but can you imagine what the fans at large will think if they don't spend to improve.

Sentiment towards FSG's is not great due to their tight fistiness and many PR blunders, this would be the straw that broken the camels back.
I imagine FSGout would be heard more often.

    funnily enough.

some sides post covid seem in terrible debt trouble.

some are not run as businesses and seem to get away with it.

others just now have **** teams but less debt (us)

the impact of covid and bad policies can't be underestimated.

Agreed, and I sense the players themselves want to see more ambition from the higher ups.

However, given how we’ve spent recently, I’m more concerned on how we spend the money. Until Klopp and Ljinders play less of a role in recruitment, we can expect to sign more players who aren’t suited to us.

In addition , Klopp needs to be more ruthless. Offering bobby and Milner new contracts is a concern because I don’t think he is learning

I'm sorry but lfc do not, and never have, had a structure dictating style of player or game to the managers.

Under Rodgers there was a severely dysfunctional system of barter trading between manager and "others" that created a bastardised team. Prior to that purslow went on a power trip (players like joe cole). Prior to that rafa was given total power and he went mad buying.

Under klopp he has been bought the players he really wants and then some vague signings he can be convinced of.

    Look at the lists

Alisson, vvd, wijnaldum, mane all long term targets of klopps. Same for ox and keita. Matip was his day 1 get him ask.

Klopp was convinced to take salah, Robertson, fabinho and a few others like minamino were seen as just buy to flip.

It's pretty clear to me that the same old same old is in effect. Jota, Diaz, nunez all look like fully agreed purchases between the various actors.

There is simply no upper management that acts like Bayern where the players are assembled and a coach selected to get the best from them.

Fsg management have no clue how to do this. The end.

    They really should do though.

That is how American sports work, especially Baseball.
A General Manager is tasked with finding the players to make a team, dependent on variables such as position, price etc, and then the coach is asked to make them work.

Generally in Yank sports the head coach has little say in who is signed, they might make suggestions but ultimately the GM does the work.

Well should do and what actually happens are two different things.

we simply don't have the brains trust of ex players or senior directors (take your pick of which at bayern and real) to entrust the club vision to.

Mike Gordon? ****ed off to sell the club.

we'd end up with an Ian ayre. business men ate not the ones to do that job.
