Wow.. few unexpected changes there! Pretty astonishing that even with Che out, our new expensive striker is still benched. But i assume selles wants pressing pace up front. Come on you saints.
Still annoying to see Elyounoussi in our starting 11 but other than that I think the weaknesses come from our poor squad rather than any bad selections from Selles. Walcott and Mara up front is no where near good enough for this level but I don't think Tall Paul was bought with Selles in mind so doesn't fit the system.
Have to say I am expecting a big defeat looking at that lineup. Hopefully Selles knows something we don’t though
It’s only Mara (enforced change) and DCC (enforced change) that’s different to a great point against Spurs. So, y’know, it’s hardly an outrage.
Me neither. I'm planting assorted veg, chillies, herbs and spices before heading to the pub for a few pre match Texel Skuumkoppes. Mrs Jab is marinating chicken wings in piri piri spice mix so far so good. Now for the nervous ninety+ minutes COYR!
Where's the attacking threat in that team? Ely, Walcott and Mara? Correct me if I'm wrong but theres 1 goal between the 3 of them all season. He's set us up boringly defensive from the start with the idea of impact subs later on. The problem is we'll be 3 down by that point. We've no option but to go for it from the start and we're not. Going down with a ****ing wimper. It's simply not good enough.
Yep, but i'm perplexed like you about Mo El starting ahead of Charly. How much did we spend in January? and none of them are starting...
It has become clear that Selles prioritizes work off the ball over consistent attacking threat. I'm not really a fan of it, but so long as Selles is getting results it's hard to say he's making the wrong calls.
The front 4 is approximately 73% of the front 4 that started against Spurs. So it’s a certainty we’ll score 3 today
