Can you point me to greaves gaffs that led to goals because I had thought he was one of the very few players who actually had a solid start to the season. I can recall him making several good last ditch interventions to save us from conceding but can’t remember him being at fault for many. Grappling at set pieces but doesn’t matter where he’s playing for that, and he has cut that out too.
shirt tugging - too slow - out of position - poor header - gives away penalties - constantly stopping and passing back, more often than not a hospital ball - needless to say, I'm not a fan
If only I could find again all those posts in the summer transfer thread, there would have to be more humble pies than Mr Kipling makes. I know Mr Kipling doesn't make humble pies, but you know what I mean.
Manesh should have gone central and Longman left at some point and !! ROSIE FFS GET SOMEONE AT THE BACK OF THE BOX TO ATTACK CORNERS AND CROSSES !!!!
This fight is a bit like our game earlier, Joshua totally outclassing Franklin but after losing 3 of his last 4, if he doesn’t get the knock out people will be right on his back. Decent scrap.
I think AJ has just lost all his desire, aggression and confidence. He's a shadow of the fighter that he was before his first loss to Ruiz
It all went downhill at Parker but he’s getting drawn in to a scrap here rather than dancing back behind his jab all the time. This is more like what we’ve been wanting to see from him.
7 minutes of added time & we looked more dangerous & better chance of scoring than at pretty much anytime before that. I was really hoping Rosie would have worked on the attacking side during this break, but it seems we just worked on getting it back to the keeper quicker.
I was talking about this on my way back to the station today. If he’s backed well, I can’t see it being long after the first international break if it stays like this.
Today wasn't that bad at all. Neither have the other recent home games been. Yes, this season has been a disappointment, I completely feel that. At the start we were really bad and under Rosenior we've improved significantly but clearly there is much more work to do on our end product. Rosenior hasn't been in the job for 5 months yet, and in that time he's been successful in improving us significantly. To be talking about whether we keep him is just deranged. We need to toughen up a bit as a fanbase. Keep our composure and be realistic in our assessments rather than so emotional. We're booing and moaning routinely, treating every game we don't win as a disgrace when it really shouldn't be that surprising. Before Bruce spent a bit of money and turned us into a promotion team in 2012/13 we'd had two seasons under Barmby and Pearson that were a lot like we are now; not many goals, a lot of games where we should've won but didn't, but we'd generally control games and not concede many. Back then we coped with it and only booed if we were ****e. There's no reason we can't be on the verge of a similar improvement over this summer as we had then. But we have to start supporting our team and stop being so negative.
Oscar is the obvious exception to the rule, but he came from another top European league. All the players who came directly from Turkey have had their seasons ruined by injuries.
Oscar has been inconsistent but he’s been a good signing on the whole as we didn’t pay a fee. Tufan I’d say has been a good signing, Darlow and Traore is having early signs of being probably my pick of the bunch. Comfortably our best player over the last 3 games
I just hope for Rosie’s sake he has the bottle to sack off players like Longman in summer and not try to persevere with him. Need to be ruthless or we won’t make any progress. I struggle to name 5 good games Longman has had in 2 seasons
i didn't say we only signed 2 good players And traore, does look good but he's played e or 4 games Oscars great in the box I also really liked what tetteh showed Tufan too at times We've been promoted from this division 3 times We know that experience is vital for one thing We made numerous signings with no experience of english football, injuries absolutely didn't help And of course, those who stay will be much better next season, but i still think we look a bit disjointed We need a player like barnes and an older championship wide player Im excited for connollys return, feels like ages since he's played
So because we drew with Rotherham people want Rosie gone? What on Earth? As others have said, he hasn't even been in the job six months and we've seen huge improvements. Our squad is still threadbare up top, we need Connolly and Tetteh back fit and even then I'd want another out and out striker to give us a chop out. We just don't have the options in that area of the pitch to offer a consistent threat. You look at Boro and they've had Forss, Akpom and Archer regularly playing and scoring, but if those three were in and out of the side for them I'm sure their scoring would drop off substantially too. We invest properly and back Rosie in we'll be in for a fine season next season. Consistency of style and structure is important if we want to progress. Look at sides that go up with a clear identity like Brentford and how well they're doing. Compare that with a Bournemouth - who granted may scrape survival - who chopped and changed managers a number of times and went up through financial strongarming as much as anything else. I know which camp I'd rather be in.
I think people forget how long it took Brighton and Brentford to get to the Premier League. They didn't suddenly do it overnight, they built up their squads over a number of seasons, just like we did before. A lot is made of the "Brentford model", but remember when we were in the Premier League under Bruce, we had a way of playing that got us promoted and as I seem to recall, we were one of the only teams playing with out and out wing backs in our promotion season. When teams saw how effective it was they tried to copy it (often failing). We are building a team around the likes of Seri, Greaves, Oscar and Tufan. We have a decent spine of a team, we just need more meat on the bones. And I think we'll see that this Summer. There won't be a flood of signings, but the ones that come (if some of the names I've seen come in) will bring proper quality.
