Succinct HT2. I was thinking the same. If he has gone to Acun and said this Malcolm will be the difference between top half maybe play off push and where we are now I would be having second thoughts. Then as I said earlier, to attract the players he would like to get here, finishing 16/17/18 isn't going to do it and as a winner, I suspect he is not a happy camper, let alone the type of football he patently wants to see played. For what Acun wants to achieve Roseniors appointment IMO was an error. HCAFC is a business and you have appointed into a Senior Position of a multi million organisation someone with next to zero experience, if there was no expectation of wanting Premiership football and championship was always going to be safe, he could learn on the job. thats just not the plan is it!! The man is spending buckets getting the fans onside (cue the I wish some of the players were comments), coaches to away games doing the exact right things with the schools etc, the fans love him, BUT the playing side put frankly is at best poor on all levels.
The bit in bold is exactly what good and successful teams do. Theres a saying isn't there... 'more of the same gives more of the same'... are any team frightened, threatened by HCAFC.... NO!!!
Cut and pasted response from far far far too many games Rosenior. Stop blowing smoke up other managers arses and get it sorted. For your own sake.
He deserves a chance to overhaul his squad and bring his own players in. It wasn't great today but this isn't a new problem, and it's hard to see how it's magically rectified with this group of players
Agreed ever since the suggestion of playoffs, being 4 points away at one point if im not mistaken, talks of “dreaming” we’ve been absolutely terrible. Does all point back to summer recruitment though and the fact we’ve spent this much and are no better off than last season is a worrying situation to be in.
The summer recruitment is looking worse and worse. We signed 16 (?) and the only ones you'd be bothered about keeping are Christie, Seri, Tufan and Traore (I've maybe missed some) It's not great now but I think we need a summer with Rosey, the Jan business was decent and we need to create a solid platform.
I'd include Woods and Tufan in that calculation. I rate Slater but he's not top drawer. I think we need a quarter back in the mould of a Tom Cairney type, but getting a player of that ilk will be the battle for us. Depends on the aspirations on the guvnor.
What should have been happening is winning say 7 out of the last 10, for a really good finishing position, impetus, excitement for the new season, increased merch and season tickets/ memberships et al.... Winning 2 of the last 7 on current form looks a challenge. Theres another factor too ... if some are going to be shipped out, their value in the last won 1 in 9 will have decreased...!!
Yeah, I said the same to the fella I sit next to. Greaves is comfortable enough on the ball to be a ball-playing centre-half under Rosy’s possession-based system of playing out from the back, but he’s not suited to being a full-back in this system. Neither is Coyle. We need a left-footed version of Christie to play left-back and Greaves needs to be playing in his natural position at centre-half.
Reading and Rotherham would have been two of those 10.... the three remaining home games would have been winnable, then perm 2 from 4 away.. its about impetus.. we dont have any... and just to show what can be achieved since they played us... Stoke have played 9... won 5 lost 2 and scored 19... conceding 7... Preston since playing us, played 7 won 4 drawn 2.... only loss to Boro'...
And if it doesn't? It's more wasted millions and another season down the pan. Do you honestly believe Rosie will have us challenging? I've not seen enough so far to say he will.
I sometimes think I’m living in a parallel universe. I thought we played a solid and controlled game today, hardly ever looked threatened and despite all our strikers being injured, we were incredibly unlucky in front of goal. We are work in progress, learning a new way of playing and will improve greatly. Yet apparently if we don’t win 7 of our last ten games we are ****. ****’s sake.
The recruitment wont be anywhere near as woeful this summer Its tragic just how disjointed this side is And people are forgetting just how utterly **** we were by autumn
doc is no where near up to standard and neither is Jones, Jones lingers on the ball and can’t make a decision quick enough and Doc is very technically limited.
I hope Rosie's learning and learning quick. To name a bench of seven (yes seven) and not include a striker - regardless of experience - was foolhardy. What if we are totally in control of a game, the oppo get a player sent off, then decide to play 9 at the back and we want to bring on some extra attacking prowess? For a debutant from the U23s, that's a dream scenario. But we didn't have that option. Only making one substitution in this situation shows what a stupid bench selection that was. I also thought Darlow looked miles off today. Ebowei was mainly gash too. Poor and disappointing.
When you have 15shots on goal It suggests some impetus How we dealt with the ball in the final third is another question
