    Just seen the goals again.

Christ TAA's positioning is appalling and onces he's beaten he never seems to try and get back to defend.

I don't get why we've never tried him in midfield.

Explain why his position is awful?

For the first robertson goes charging off leaving the defence exposed, he's got to cover across because virgil is now left back, konate is the only centre back.

If he's stood out wide he leaves the centre completely free.

Fir the second its exactly the same, but him and Robertson roles are reversed.

Once the 2nd goes in they give up, but the third came from the opposite side, **** all to with him.

Just occasionally it would benefit people to actually watch the game and form an opinion rather than spouting the same tired lines.

I do think Trent could play a lot better but I agre with you. Trent gets so much stick but he is often double teamed and given no protection.

I think adding some serious legs to the midfield will add a lot to us. But I’m concerned that the rot is now deeply set into our existing senior players. It’s going to be very difficult to get them to believe again IMO, and I’m worried that Klopp won’t ever find the answers to this.

We need a big summer and that doesn’t just stop with midfield unfortunately. Klopp and the owners have caused this

    I’m not
As I mentioned before that mini league does show we can mix with the best

If I was going to worry <laugh><laugh><laugh> the thing that worries me is our model is or appears to be get an 11-13 to compete and hope for no injuries

our squad generally as a rule gets injuries

I know we can’t / won’t get to levels City, Utd even Arsenal buying players - so I would like to see improvements to our medical team

All this talk of getting older
    It’s getting me down lmao

Trent hasn't been great this season, but the constant ****e that he can't defend is quite frankly ludicrous.

I saw a comment on the BBC, if Liverpool want to challenge they will need a new right back.

So we need to replace the Premier league winning, champions league winning, club world cup winning, fa Cup winning right back?

    I swear to god.

If you ever wonder if the media has an effect on you, do you think trent can defend, if you think he's ****, you need to cone away from the Internet, because you're as impressio able as wet clay.

The mini league may look good but we’re 8th in the real table. We’ve won around 11 points out 40+ on the road. This is a disastrous season where we’re seeing the same issues and mistakes as day 1 Vs Fulham.

Klopp has not been able to at least mask issues with tactical changes all season. That is the biggest concern for me

Agree - this kid has been instrumental in our recent success. Literally dictating games from right back - it’s unheard of.

Shock - we have no midfield who offer no protection, a disjointed attack that doesn’t press in a coordinated manner - of course the defence will be more exposed.

he definitely needs completion but that back up will face the same challenges.

I never said he couldn't defend. I said he was caught out of position alot.

I also notice you didn't talk about the 4th goal, where TAA was atrocious. Caught in the wrong place, easily beaten and then couldn't be arsed to track Grealish.

I agree with what you are saying
But I do feel there is to much - panic - our squad is small comparatively
    Always has been under Klopp

he can make all the tactical changes in the world but if he currently doesn’t have all the players then it means nothing

to ignore the mini league seems daft
No trophies are won on the mini league but it’s an indication of the level we can play at despite all of the issues that everyone believes we have

    I agree with Luv
That if we get some legs into the midfield area a lot of these ‘issues’ will go away

what this season has shown to me is just how important Hendo was and is to us as - sadly O do think his engine has gone this season
I hope he can be used with someone else sharing the spot with him

He has been immense for us imho

For the first 3 he wasn't out of position, so I'm unsure what your talking about.

By the time the 4th went in everyone had given up, singling out trent seems churlish.

I wonder why you havnt said robertson was out of position? Maybe because trent is the new whipping boy and your just jumping on?

This is why he might be better in Midfield.

He could still dictate play and play his crosses. But wouldn't have to be stuck up against a fast tricky winger, whilst having to get forward as well.

There's been a clear plan to attack us this season. Get in behind TAA or Robertson and drag the two CB's out wide to cover, leaving the middle of the goal open.

As you mentioned TAA (and Robertson) are getting double teamed alot this season, so perhaps we need to think about change in formation as well.
Something needs changing for the rest of the season. Klopp stubbornly sticking to a formation that the players can't play anymore isn't helping the defence.

but why doesn’t he have the players? It’s because:

    - he’s too fixated on Tchouameni and Jude, and rejected alternatives
    - owners too tight to fund new players
    - Klopp too loyal to existing players

this squad is beat and Klopp is a big reason for that unfortunately. But also, it’s just job to get the best out of the current players - he’s not come close to doing that unfortunately.

it’s a bit of a **** show all round really - there’s no one issue. Lot of different issues :(

I would prefer to keep Trent at rb and get some good midfielders In front of him. Try to get back to what made us good previously. If he still struggling, then we can look to move him in midfield

    Trent is a generational talent.

How people have turned on hi. Is absolutely beyond me.

    He's out of position!

Well yes, he's asked to press and play further forward, we won the league and numerous other cups with him doing just that, you can't have him swinging crosses in, pressing the keft back, dictating play, cheering when his assists are through the roof, then moan that he's not in the right back slot when the ball is punted long.

If they are getting doubled teamed (well not if they are) that means there is space somewhere else on the pitch
We just haven’t got the legs to take advantage

With Klopps systems of play if one part of the machine isn’t working the thing tends to struggle

I genuinely don’t think we are too far away

I don’t buy into the pros banging on about chasms and stuff only two years ago they were saying City and Liverpool were a decade ahead of everyone else

everything gets dramatised nowadays - it seems to be the way of it

I happy to trust the team and Klopp

Not going to happen now is it, since the window is closed.

Next season is next season. This season still needs to be dealt with.

And if big IF he gets the right players and we continue to compete at the top for a few more years he'll be right at the risk of ONE season.

    Totally agree
    Form is temporary …
I am sure I have seen people try to say this before too but if Klopp wasn’t happy with him he would be dropping him - I think it’s a risk reward that Klopp plays with the full backs
This season it’s not worked because - primarily the midfield (more Hendo not picking on him just he was the best at doing it ) are not covering/supporting them when they bomb forward

as I keep saying I don’t think we are miles off
