Is this one a real runner or just the Daily Fail filling a column on a Thursday afternoon?

Shelbourne lost 0-1 to Derry last night, but it seems the standard of refereeing isn't any better over there, Damien Duff is very critical.

Damien Duff is already a City legend.
Own goal sent The Toon down and kept us up.

I wonder if Acun has had any involvement in this appointment? He spent 3 years in Turkey!

Shelbourne appoint South African Barry Mocke as club’s new chief executive officer
SHELBOURNE have appointed Barry Mocke as their new chief executive officer.

The South African relocated to Dublin late before Christmas, after almost three years on sabbatical in Turkey, and replaces Dave O’Connor who stepped down last month.

Mocke was previously CEO at Cycling South Africa and, more recently, General Manager and Senior Leader at the Balderstone Sports Institute, an educational facility for aspiring elite athletes.

Shels chairman Andrew Doyle said: “Barry has been working in prominent, leadership roles in sport and business for many years and has a lot of valuable experience, knowledge and skills

“We are excited to have Barry on board and are looking forward to working closely with him in delivering upon our strategic plans for the club over the coming years.”

Dublin City Council confirmed earlier this week that a deal has been agreed to sell Tolka Park to Shels who are also in advanced talks about takeover by Hull City's Turkish owner Acun Ilicali.

Keith Buckley's injury didn't stop him from playing sideline role for Bohemians
Mocke said: “I am very honoured and thrilled to be joining the Shelbourne FC team at this exciting stage of the club’s journey.

"My interactions with the directors have been very positive and I am appreciative to be able to spend some time with Dave O’Connor before he leaves us.

“The rich tradition of Shels and the ambitious plans the board has for the future of the club, makes it an exciting place to be.”
