    Nothing new mate

Just some of the conflicts in may life time that we British have been involved in .

WW2, Korea, Malaya, Kenya, Cyprus, Aden, The Falklands, Northern Ireland, the Balkans, 2 Gulf wars and Afganistan,.There's a couple not mentioned as they were minor confrontations and at least one I know of that is not public knowledge.

MY GOD, i go missing for a few days and it's the end of the world (cue REM "it's the end of the world as we know it"). but seriously syd, i know what you mean, i often think "what kind of world are we leaving our grandbairns" and it is quite scary.

There's nothing we can do, whatever happens. Pretty much the whole of the 20th century was a massive cock-up, and if one bad word had been said in 1962, we'd probably all be dead. There's no use worrying about the end of the world, NASA statistics show that about three meteors that could obliterate the earth come close to us every week! That said, I applaud what's happening in the popular revolutions that seem to be springing up everywhere from North Africa to the Middle East, governments should do what's best for the majority, not the minority. But, as somebody said, if China gets involved, we're ****ed.

I am 65 and was born a few months after the war and the only thing that frightens is the youth of the future in this country.

Long gone in ten years. I wouldn't bank on it Syd, I can give you a dozen years and I'm still going strong (fingers crossed) Having said that I'm bloody glad that I'm not born tomorrow.
