It is a worry that for the last few years we've needed a white knight to save our season. Financially we should be more stable after the turnover of staff this last year. A few are worth having, others less so. Hopefully enough in the squad to form the foundation for next year with a few more new signings to consolidate. Also Adams and Collins will be like new signings. Lamouchi (if his contract is renewed) will need to uncover a couple rough diamonds on the cheap with hopefully a bit of magic from the loan market. Whatever happens, we need that sense of identity and some consistency so we're not lurching from crisis to crisis, changing direction every couple months. THAT is where the owner, Chairman and CEO need to step up. Otherwise we'll be having the same conversation this time next year.
Happy for their fans.... £40 mill is a big chunk of cash to walk away from so fair play to Hoyle if that's what he does and everything goes through in legitimate fashion... a far cry from our hassle with Sam Hammam and him almost sending us under for the sake of an extra few quid!! With no points deduction on the horizon it should help even more to focus our own efforts achieving safety under our own steam now..
No doubt that if SAS keep us up they’ll be retained but SL will justifiably want to bring in better players all over the pitch. The embargo is an obstacle that needs to be resolved though as he can’t be expected to work on loans and out of contract players. Let’s stay up though first and foremost. Then they can work on a blueprint for next season with a director of football type as a priority off the pitch.
I see O'Dowda got injured in Ireland's last game and is out with a groin strain - bloody international break!
Ince reckons Reading 6 point deduction is imminent - drawn out decision making and long overdue for me............ https://rdg.today/its-imminent-paul-ince-gives-update-on-reading-fcs-efl-points-deduction/
Hope that's right and not just Incey wincey playing games and hoping other strugglers will take their feet off the gas.
He was on 5 Live this morning. Seemed to take it quite lightly. Fine them another 6 points for insolence!!! They play the Wurzels tomorrow. I don't often say this but come on the Wurzels. P.S. Not an instruction for Masky.
Sorry for the overused cliché, but it's cup finals all the way for us now. I think Wigan and Blackpool will go down and then it's between us, 'udders, the rain men and QPR. Reading are just too jammy
