Appointing her might make me reconsider my new found Lib Dem allegiance. Would depend on her front bench, and a willingness to make clear policy statements, but I do like her.
One of 'Blair's Babes'. Avoid. Part of the failed generation of politicians who ushered in this ****show.
Did our govt announce anything today re electric cars and sacking of diesel. My wife is saying they have brought the date forward for no more diesels, but I cant find anything other than it likely being delayed like in europe. Any help appreciated before I pick up a new diesel guzzler this weekend
They won't be able to get rid of diesel. Going entirely electric is a pipe dream. Is it a mild hybrid?
I don't think there was anything radical announced; Decarbonising transport: We are signalling our long-term plans for decarbonising road and air travel - continuing to provide strong market signals and incentives to drive supply chain development. We are publishing a final consultation on the Zero Emission Vehicle mandate: requiring that from 2024 an increasing percentage of manufacturers’ new car and van sales are zero emission. We are announcing more than £350 million investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure. We are also consulting on a long-term trajectory for Sustainable Aviation Fuel uptake in the UK through a mandate to be introduced from 2025. This is the full written statement from yesterday https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-statements/detail/2023-03-30/hcws690
No hybrid mate. I am a bugger for cars. 3 litre diesel, stupid horse power. I have promised my wife it is my last hurrah before I have to buy a milk float The reality is I will probably have to be dragged out of my car with a real engine.
I had a diesel hybrid and it was brilliant in the battery offsetting the turbo lag. These electric things are unreal mind. Unbelievable acceleration. They'll never take off until the range is longer and the charging easier. Plus they fall over when it's too cold. When they solve that I'd have one in a heartbeat. Long way off yet though.
After all the words that have been written ... ... his entire life summed up in one photo, absolutely brilliant. Could've been Trump but, if the cap fits.
A good read Monty, l would like to see more meat on the bone which would be in the detail of the written papers it provides within the article and in truth l haven't read. The article say about Net Zero emissions of vehicles, but at no point does the article mention lorries, buses, and heavy duty vehicles. It also does not make it clear if they are referring to exhaust emissions or whole vehicle emissions in the statement on Net Zero emissions. I note that at this point we are the only country on this crusade which is highly commendable, but without carrying the world's car industry it will be difficult to achieve.
Don in a bit of bother. The Republicans making all sorts of noises about the political motivation but that seems to be the icing on the cake rather than the driving factor. Really the Democrats would be better going up against Trump again - Di Santis looks the more dangerous candidate to them in every way.
For Drumpf, will the orange prison jump suit clash with his skin colour (or color in usa spelling)? He may need fashion tips
If he does go down (I think he'll be convicted but won't go to prison, just enough to stop him running again) it'll be interesting to see how that works with his secret service detail etc.
