People need to remember that these accounts only go up to 30th June 2022. Would imagine the accounts up to June 2023 will show another increase in revenue but also a huge increase in COS and admin expenses. Plus, no loan write off, so I would imagine probably a loss on the next set of accounts. So caution around FFP is probably a good thing…
A £20m loan write off the season we were bought. Is that £20m been passed under the table to show a profit on the clubs books?
Of course a £20m loan write off shows a profit If the £20m loan wasnt written off Acun would have had to repay it to the Allams and therefore he wouldnt have bought the club
No what I meant was, what chance there was payment via other means, with the loan written off on the books, to make it show profit for ffp.
It doesnt affect FFP. Any loans written off are not included as part of profits. https://www.efl.com/-more/governanc...s/appendix-5-financial-fair-play-regulations/
Goodness me, will the era of eagerly giving undue credit to the Allams ever come to an end? They didn't take a loss out of the goodness of their hearts did they. They took a loss because they'd made a mess of it and had to eventually cut their losses.
If them doing this made it easier to sell us or get the sale sorted then I'll say fair play to them, I'd say exactly the same if it was anyone writing off that kind of money. It's not eagerly giving them anything.....they didn't have to do it, they could have just kept hold of us and ran us even further into the ground. Nice to see you still can't stand anyone looking at things differently to you though
I sincerely doubt they actually made a loss anyway when you tally everything up, they probably profited quite handsomely.
They certainly did make more then enough fro us. But still didn't have to write it off, so if doing that finally got rid of them then fair play and thanks
Yep, I find it really unpalatable to read, yet again, this undeserved warmth towards the people who made our club so miserable for such a long time. I'd be happy to never hear about them again, or equally happy for them to be called out for what they were and what they did, but seeing people, (and it often is you specifically) take time to make a point of giving them credit is, to me, insulting to this club's supporters after everything we had to endure from them. Yes, you could say they theoretically could've continued to dig their heels in for another year, lost even more money and prolonged our malaise even more, so technically it could've been even worse and always could be. But if not doing that is worthy of praise then it's an incredibly low bar, and I can't imagine what would make you want to be so generous. My best guess is just to wind people up perhaps.
