My comment wasn't directly aimed at you more people who want to burn the poppy or get rid of it... Also I wasnt aware you are Irish (should have known considering your avatar), so the last point does make more sense now!

It's about time we murdered these guys burning poppies. It's okay for them to do such a thing, but if we were to do something similar we would be slaughtered.

These people can **** right off if they do not like our institutions and that includes this author of this thread.

Ok, let's put it slightly differently. In many Moslem countries, hashish is smoked openly in cafes. Opium is equally tolerated in some countries such as Iran and Afghan. In all these places, alchohol is unobtainable and it's public consumption strictly forbidden. Why?

WW2 is one of the few truly just wars in history though. A real case of good vs evil. It can't really be compared to anything else.

If you want to wear a poppy, wear one, if you don't, don't.

Just don't direspect the memory of the war-dead, or those who want to respect the fallen, by being arseholes about it.

the poppy should be worn for the 2 world wars only imo and the money raised should go the old veterans. Once they eventually all die out the poppy should be retired.

a new charity should be set up to help soldiers who are injured or killed fighting today.
