I very very nearly got to go to the Australian GP years ago .

To this day I wish I had .

 

I'd say in the day it was brilliant.

 

It was 96 or 98 , buggered if I can remember though .

WAS AT spa in 98 and as a Jordan Fan back then , that was a good day !

 

you must have been soaked up to your eyeballs.

that was some race on TV.

 

I certainly was .

we were at Pouhon , just past where MS. hit. DC .

brilliant!

Caught the Aus GP re run from 2003 on Sky last night- the whole spectacle was better.

Sure, there was grooved tyres and the strange Bridgestone v Michelin dynamic, but it sounded incredible, looked incredible (proper camera angles to capture speed rather than todays “zoomed in for the sponsors” BS).

No DRS. Smaller cars. Lighter cars.

I didn’t realise it at the time, but it was a glorious time of F1.

Watched it the other Day .

I have always liked Pironi , but accept he was very Political .

Not withstanding my support for Pironi , I do think it was slightly biased in favour of JV .[

 

In what is perhaps the most fantastically awesome news ever: Felipe Massa is looking to get the result of Singapore 2008 annulled, which would hand him that year’s title. I won’t link the story because it’s click-baity nonsense, but it’s supposedly all based on it coming to light that the FIA knew about the race manipulation during the season, rather only after the results were finalised and goes on to say that he has very little chance of success.

Damien has 2 titles

Massa and Verstappen have 1 each

It sounds just perfect ,to me.There`s been so much injustice and unfair practice over the years.

 

Whilst it would be ridiculous to change the title outcome, I do think they should have followed the cycling example and simply declared that the race didn't have a winner.

Curiously it seems that Bernie's comment that they knew in 08 was something Charlie Whiting and Max Mosely had both already said years ago. I guess Massa didn't notice back then!
