The methods won't be a secret. What measures they are gathering, and what combo of measures + measure threshold values they use to derive actionable info (decline, send a scout, buy etc) certainly will be.
I am pretty sure that between them they only sold five or six players to a current top 6 club. We need fourteen or fifteen to give us a chance.
You'd have to assume that we'd be able to sign players that they can't, though. They may have highlighted better signings that they can't currently attract or couldn't afford.
I am not clear what you are saying. Surely 5 or 6 is pretty good if not excellent considering their purchasing and pulling power. How many of our current players would another top 6 club want? Romero, Kane, Son, Kulusevski, Bentancur? 5 or 6?
Their "moneyball" system should be a function of at least two parameters : "Aims" and "Budget" . It would be very interesting to see what set of players are common to both them and Spurs, after the Aims and Budget steps are applied.
I definitely think he fits the coaching style of what we need but we can never be 100% sure until he's been here for a while. I actually like a lot of the managers that are being touted as possible options, both those heavily and loosely linked, so I'm hoping with about 10 decent candidates potentially gettable I won't be disappointed this time around like I was when we appointed Nuno in the summer of 21.
Recent Spurs managers who have moved the club upwards (PL top 4 etc) while playing entertaining attacking football in the process : - BMJ - Arry - Pochettino - Conte (final third of 2021-22) Which currently available managers do you believe would be akin to any of the above ??
Difficult to see any new manager/coach making a significant difference here. In fact, I wouldn't mind betting that if Mourinho and Conte put all the £m's they have had from Spurs into creating an entirely new club team, they would still likely end up winning something before us!
Scoring goals has been the problem, as all too often if an opponent scores first we may as well go and do something else - especially after opponents sussed out our very predictable attacking patterns under Conte and especially the ubermensch
Spurs have scored plenty of goals though. Keeping clean sheets and the defensive errors have been the issue.
On your last point, whatever you think of our players we are actually in the top 6 so perhaps more of them pass muster than you think. None of the players sold by Brighton and Brentford look anywhere near as good as those so far. The point I am trying to make is if you are a mid-table club fishing in a large pool of players available for £20m or less then a small edge in identifying which of those players is the best might well translate into better onfield performance because you are reasonably likely to be able to sign the players you want. In our case, as an aspirant to join the elite, even a big edge in data analysis might not help much as the number of excellent players is much smaller and most of those, given the choice, would join one of our more successful rivals instead of us.
