Suggested as a way to play Trent and avoid the defence problems to some extent, not my idea by the way

    terrible idea.

that's man city style and you.must have someone high and side so putting Elliott and salah out wide means the right side is then dead for crosses.

As I said "not my idea" but they must find some way to keep Tent for his crossing/passing ability, but not as a RB as he can't defend to save his life and as we do not overrun/press teams like we used to he gets exposed.

look, the man city system was to move full backs into a midfield 6 type area but to have the wingers high and wide and midfielders going to box etc.

our system cannot be designed to have a full back passing the ball. it has to be designed to score goals.

if we accept klopp thinks winning the ball high up is his best playmaker then we have to figure out how to close the lanes and compete.

there's key functional issues with our system.

the cbs are 4 miles apart. you can take your pick where to counter on us and playing fast and long enables isolating one cb or the other with a forward while a runner right down the middle is straight in if that player can get the ball. this must end.

in principle telling a 6 to actually be a 6 and stay between the cbs and close that gap is no issue.

we have to press with 6 players , leaving 4 to be ready to close lanes and hit the ball that's cleared. the 6 pressed have to be front 3, one cm and both full backs. if you do bot hit the wide areas with the press forget it.

He'd be perfect at RCM (he's basically playing there anyway) as long as the coaching team stay on his case about putting the effort in

he needs to go wide and stay wide.

this extra 10 or run to no 9 crap needs to end.

In his current position, yes. If he moved forward, not so much.

Looking for a bit of advice.

I may well be being paranoid, over protective etc

I've got 3 boys, which is a ball ache but reasonable simple.

    I've got 1 daughter.

Now the local chip shop owner gave her and her two mates free chips. I know it sounds stupid but all I can think is, he's got an ulterior motive than just being nice.

At this point I'll mention she's 11, but doesn't look it.

I'm unsure if I'm being over protective or my over all feeling of wanting to go down and pull him over the counter is justified.

I mentioned it to one of the father's of the other kids and he felt very similar to myself. Its a bit creepy.

For those of you with daughters how the bloody hell do you handle it.

Chip shops/takeaways are a bit iffy if they are encouraging young girls. I would go and have a word with the owner and tell him not to give young girls freebies as people may think he is a ****, if he is this should be a warning you are watching him if he isn't then he will stop as he will realise it could be misinterpreted and he will get a reputation he does not deserve.

I was in Chester once with my daughter and her mate, both aged about 13 at the time. They went into a clothes shop selling Emo type clothes I said I would meet them there after I had been to another shop. When I went back the "manager" of the shop was chatting up my daughter's mate, he was about 30. I just said to the girls time to go you both have homework to do, and to the manager I said "they are only 13 what the hell do you think you are at" he started blustering that he thought they were older, etc. My daughter's friend might have looked 15 at a push at the time, my daughter is 26 and only 5ft tall so she looked like a kid then.

Think it best if you mention to said chipppie owner that you don't want him giving free food to your daughter, at least then he will know she talks to you and anything he does will get back to you.

do all kids get a freebie once in a while, or only girls?

did he only do it for yours?

if he just trying to generate business cos kids will come back if they think there's a good deal on offer?

our local will sometimes throw a few chips in if someone just orders a burger or whatever just to try remind folk of what they can get.

tbh there's no way to tell bar knowing the actual score on his level of nonce or level of freebies to get business in future.

I've never got free anything, more Importantly my lad who's a year older has never been given anything either.

On one hand he may well just be being nice, im well aware of how men are percieved these days. It's hard to do good for being bad.

On the other hand it just seems creepy

It's tricky. My daughter and step-daughter - both in their mid-thirties now - managed to navigate their way through that period safely. I always trusted them to be able to take care of themselves, within reason.
Obviously we all want our kids to be safe and are understandably protective, but part of me is sad that these days anyone who shows any friendliness towards kids is automatically viewed with suspicion.
You want kids to be aware of the dangers, but not to be routinely scared of everyone because that inhibits their social development.
    It's a balancing act.
I don't know whether you could check this guy out and have a word with him in a non-aggressive manner to see if it puts your mind at rest. I mean he might just have been wanting to get rid of some scraggy old chips in order to make up a new batch.

I'd be interested to see some stats on how many chances he creates from RCM. My own belief is that he creates far more - pro rata - as an attacking FB. I'd rather he stayed there and learned to put a shift in defending.
