Lets look at our chances for all the 4 trophies. PL - We are fighting at best for 3rd and more realistically for 4th. While never say never, it is unlikely that we will win this. CL - It is a knockout competition and I don't think our team has the quality or the luck to win it. We will probably, as always, go deep and then get knocked out by one of United, Barca, Madrid or Milan. Carling Cup - We seem to have gotten the wrong team in the next round. Man City has a better team than ours and seem to be finding ways to win. And even if we somehow manage to beat them, then we will just reach the SF - where we could face one of Chelsea or United. So unlikely again. FA Cup - Nothing has happened yet, so can't say anything yet. So of the 4, we are unlikely to win 3 and can't speak yet about the 4th. So pretty difficult for us to win anything this season.
We're still in all four competitions, until we're knocked out or have no chance - then by definition we've still got a chance.
No chance of winning anything. Swansea also have a chance of winning stuff, aint gonna happen though. This season is a right off, lets see what personnel we get for the start of next season and see what happens.
Realistically, the FA Cup is our best chance of getting anything. Man City will beat us in the Carling Cup (the moneybags simply have too deep a squad; while we'll be putting out a second string side, they'll still be able to play world class players). Premier League is already out of reach, and I don't think anyone believes we're going to win the Champions League in what is effectively a rebuilding year, so I'd focus all the attention on the FA Cup and try and win that. We can beat anyone in the league when we're on form, it's just a matter of a consistency.
It will be interesting to see what team AW puts out as he is caught between a rock and a hard place. If he goes for the kids we could end up with another 8-2 scoreline, the last thing we need right now as he battles to regain confidence in the squad. Yet if he goes strong, we face the risk of over exposing our key players. Tough call for the boss.
We're at the quarter final stage of the comp with a home draw, I know M City have acquired one of the best teams in the country and are frighteningly good at times, but at some point the pressure of 2 games a week will tell and if we manage to squeeze past them we have every chance. The FA Cup could be the easiest and hardest to win, if you get a string of home draws against lower league sides you can find yourselves in the semi's without having come out of 2nd gear. The Prem and CL are out of reach
For me I'll be happy with the "finish in 4th" trophy. That is surely worth more than Carling and FA cups..... We are neve going to win the PL and the CL...... Finish 4th and that will be a great season! And hope spuds finish 5th!
How about you **** off our board? I don't know any arsenal fans who just hang around the spurs board, and yet a lot of vice versa happens. This was also the case on bbc606....
I'd be happy with a 4th place finish to be fair also, I can't see us doing well in any competition and to drop out of the Champion's League at the expense of winning the Carling or FA Cup would be bad ... although not catastrophic.
Personally, I'd go large against city and aim for that trophy & 3rd/4th, forsaking the other stuff. CL next year, a minor trophy and 2+ positions above the spuds would do nicely tyvm
I'm sure we can win the carling cup. City aren't unbeatable. If we play a full strength side we have a very good chance.
What is your problem with fans from other teams posting on each other's boards? Isn't that what a forum is about? Unless you want a Fansite.......?
