Tony Bloom estimated wealth 1.3 billion. The main thing Brighton do is value a player and accept nothing less unlike us with KP and Raphinha because it was their “dream moves”.

Not sure that’s entirely true, well not with Villa anyway, I think Brighton are very well run but most premier league clubs don’t have a pot to piss in as most of their income goes into player’s pockets (and no doubt some skimmed off by the owners).

It may have been Phillips’ dream move but we had Man City’s pants down :emoticon-0172-mooni not that they can’t afford it.

Apparently though he’s still good enough for England <whistle>

Not for me we didn’t, should have got £60 million for an England international midfielder. Brighton got more for their left back.

And like a second hand car KP has very low mileage on the clock which should dramatically increase resale value. It does with cars

In truth LoL, I didn’t check the facts - but I’m pretty sure what I said about Villa is spot on (a club I can’t stand btw). Lived in Brum for 12 yrs and have some Villa pals. Their ground is bigger, by several thousand I think. They tend to sell out. The owner is a billionaire. Perhaps one for Aski.

No, you could well be right, though I thought that they were close to FFP issues. Mine was more the point that almost every club’s income is taken up by players wages.

This is just a quick calculation, so won't say figures are 100% accurate, but should give a good indication. Also Villa have filed audited accounts for 2022, Brighton have filed theirs but not viewable at company's house for 10 days, we haven't filed ours as yet.

Aston Villa 2019 -2022 audited accounts, total turnover £496m, total losses 227m

Transfers fees 2018-2023 as per reported by Soccerway- Fees Paid £397m, fees received £174m. Net worth of owner £5.3b

Brighton 2018-2021 audited accounts, total turnover £544m, total losses £104m

Transfer fees 2018-2023 as reported by Soccerway- Fees paid £137m, fees received £215m. Net worth of owner £1.3b

Leeds 2018-2021 audited accounts, total turnover £314m, total losses 62m

Transfer fees 2018-2023 fees paid £250m, fees received £119m. Net worth of owner £4.25b (including 49ers investment co)

Basically at year end June 2021, ourselves and Villa had similar turnover of approx £170m, Brighton was £139m. villa made a trading loss of £32m, Brighton trading loss of £46m and we had trading profit of £25m
