Looking at the list of the top 100 players in the world last year according to the Guardian, how far down the list do you have to go until you find a player you don't recall ever seeing them play, even on the telly? https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...e-100-best-male-footballers-in-the-world-2022 There's a handful on there that I've seen less than 5 times (maybe even just highlights for a couple) but I went down to number 79 (Ounahi) before I found someone I was unsure I've ever seen - I probably watched him play during the world cup but I don't remember. Other than that, De Arrasceata at 92 is the only other candidate - but he's played 42 times for Uruguay and in the last 2 World Cups so I've probably seen him as well. I'm intrigued to know if some people just pay no attention outside of Sunderland or outside of English football and have never heard of these players.
I know Nate. But I struggle to take seriously any paper who has Messi as the best player in the world last year!wasnt even the best player at his own club! Live, I’ve seen a handful of them. Obviously only the ones who’ve played against us or for Man Utd.
23. I've probably seen him play on TV but if Rafael Leão walked past me in the street I wouldn't double take. As it stands, I only watch Sunderland and the 4 non league teams within 15 minutes of my house, aside from classic fixtures and finals that pique my interest. I watch sunderland or one of those 4 teams every Saturday during the season though and i only really care about Sunderland. I'll watch match of the day every now and again...not that bothered about it anymore. Used to be the highlight of my week. When the little-uns are old enough to stay up late, I may get back into it with them, I'd like them to have to look forward to like I did, felt like a treat to be able to stay up late and know every player in every team.
