    no idea about the answers, other than a third of number 5 which has already been mentioned, but i thought i'd remind listeners that one of the hull city games in the 1904-5 season of friendlies, while awaiting elevation into the football league, was played against the coldstream guards (memory says 10-3, and it may have been against coldstream fc rather than the guards) and coldstream is further inland than the aforementioned berwick, on the scottish side of the river, but further south than berwick, near to kelso.

    tory pm sir alec douglas-home is buried in coldstream. he is the only british pm to have played first class cricket.
