    We can help with that...

Is your retirement due to your accident?
How are you doing with that?

No, stopped playing Sundays years ago. The new manager brought family and mates in and pushed a lot of the regulars out.

Five months since accident. Been swimming about two months now. Started playing footy on Mondays about a fortnight ago to see how I go (played three times a week beforehand). Seem to be okay so I've cancelled my swimming membership and will look to play footy more from April; again, see how it goes.

Get occasional backache, had it today, but think I've just got to accept it'll be part of my life now

Yeah, that's the only way to look at it. I've accumulated an interesting collection of aches and pains over the years, and there's no point in letting it get to you, you just have to make the most of it.
And whatever activity goes out of your life can always be replaced with something else.

Determined to carry on playing football, not getting any younger so want to make the most of it whilst I'm still able to play to a decent standard.

Swimming been alright and I've made massive improvements since starting two months ago but I just find it so boring. It's a chore more than a hobby.

Usually yes, but since this was started via injury. I've had back issues since I was about twice, just not to this level.

I had the BMW 330e as a company car, but as a saloon not the tourer or X3. I had the M series one (i.e. some better trim etc, not an actual M model).

The range on petrol was terrible (about 300 miles on a tank) as the tank is smaller than a normal 3 series. Not sure if there is a bigger tank in the tourer or X3?

Nice to drive though, i think the interior has been improved since i had it, better entertainment system, sat nav, screen now (the satnav was terrible in mine).

the BIK is exceptional! I paid about £150 per month for the car AND petrol (we had fuel cards).

I had a diesel Merc C220 before that and was paying more like £350 a month.

I used to live a few minutes away from the BMW plant here in South Carolina and knew several people who worked there and had company cars.

They all loved their cars... but the one thing they all complained about was the tyres. Tyres didn't last long and were obscenely expensive to replace. (I don't remember why the tyres were more expensive to replace).

There again, it's probably not going ro be as big a problem in England because all the roads are paved and the roads there are in much better condition. Tyres more likely to last longer there.

I don't know if you've seen our roads lately? Most now have potholes the size of moon craters after maintenance budgets have been slashed!

BMWS run low profile tyres. The tyres just don't last as long as the old fashioned ones.

or if you are sliding round corners and doing burn outs cos you robbed said bmw

In fairness to milk some roads i've driven on in the USA are shockers. dead flat concrete rather than tarmac etc.

Concrete? That would be a luxury. The street I live on starts out as asphalt but is made of crush and run for the last forty feet. (I am last house so have to drive along crush and run every day, because I'm the only house after the paved area ends the county won't come out and pave it for me). My driveway is nice and smooth but then pull out onto public road and "bump-bump-bump"... And even the part that is paved is all cracked and full of potholes.

In the capitol city of South Carolina (Columbia) there are still some roads made of just sand. That's in the capitol city, city limits. <laugh>

Granted, most roads are paved in urban areas, and even in rural areas but we still have a surprising number of "dirt roads"... in rural residential or agricultural areas.

I have a E220 and pay £400 a month tax on it, we pay private mileage as a deduction from wages. The small tank has been commented on by some of my colleagues and the tiny boot in the 330e saloon. The X3 will not arrive until October so at the end of April I will swap my E220 for a 330e Touring which is coming available due to a retirement. Time will tell as to how I like it. I do long journeys so will miss the 60mpg I get from the Merc with 900 miles on a full tank.

if people can figure how to fill a hall with holes go right ahead.

I personally find that holes don't have much filling in them
