How did Aarons do as a winger? I watched the highlights and he seemed to have one or two good runs. I was calling for this a while ago when Byram was fit.
Not a winger in the real sense, more a midfield/attack player. Max is a good player in many positions, but not really outstanding in any.
Yes. As Wagner said afterwards, the intention was to negate the threat posed by Stoke's top scorer, Tyrese Campbell.
Ben Lee's analysis of Saturday's game revealing just how right Alex Neil's post-match comment was: Stoke v Norwich
I actually quite welcome this, because it suggests that Wagner is willing to be 'pragmatic', to use a cliché. And if Sargent hadn't fluffed his lines on Tzolis's fantastic throughball, we would probably have won 1-0. A moment of real skill is all it takes if you are solid enough at the back.
Music to my ears Gozo. I would though question whether we really were "solid enough at the back", given the extent to which coming away with anything on Saturday relied so heavily on Angus Gunn.
We don't agree on much, Robbie, but one thing I do agree with you about is that successful teams are built on a strong defence, even though the romantic in me doesn't like this and prefers the you-score-four-we'll-score-five approach. And I also agree that we weren't particularly solid at the back on Saturday and the club owes Gunn a slap-up meal in a fancy restaurant. Oh, and I agree with you about Leitner, at least in terms of his ability, although I worry about what's between his ears. Ancient history now, though. Now what can we argue about?
