As we all know, SOMEHOW, Shola Ameobi has always seemed to have got a lot more gametime than he deserves. Despite being a fairly ****e striker, every manager loves the bloke, and he's always seen as an integral part of our squad, despite, once again, being ****e. For years it has puzzled many a geordie.

Now I'm starting to think that Shola has taught Sammy the tricks he's used to achieve this. Don't get me wrong, Sammy definitely has talent, but it's clearly very raw at the moment, yet somehow he's stealthed in and got himself a spot on the bench with a number of lengthy sub-apps - often ahead of other players like Ben Arfa.

This goal in the Carling Cup was quite a while ago now, and he hasn't done anything else in the mean time, so how the hell has he done it? Sammy clearly needs more development, and I can honestly think of other youth players who are perhaps not as raw, so why him? Pardew seems to take his time developing every youth player we have, yet it's Sammy who seems like he's been thrown in before he's fully ready.

I think Sammy could do with a loan deal at somewhere like Huddersfield

Yeah, I don't think he is really that ready. Always frightens defences, but is definetly a bit raw and some people sugesting that he should start games are getting a bit far ahead of themselves

It is a bit odd like. I rate Ferguson over Sammy and would rather see him get game time instead. That's not to say i wouldn't like to see Sammy develop as well mind.

Noticed some people have been getting on the lad's back recently, but I thought he did well on Saturday and it appears I'm the only one. He's already getting a lot of **** off people because he's got a brother who only plays well once every ten games - we need to stop comparing him with Shola all the time as tempting as it may be.

Just saying he seems a bit raw. He has talent and does some good stuff, but think he could do with a loan deal

Possibly Pardew sees Sammy as a player who will never leave (since he's an Ameobi) and is therefore more interested in blooding him and getting him first team ready so we have a long term quality player? I agree though, right now I'd rather see Ferguson.

Sammy is out of contract at the end of the season - wonder why he hasn't got a new on yet

Dunno. Doesn't seem likely he'll be off anywhere though.

Yeah, think he will sign one like. Hope Tavernier does aswell - would like him to be nearer the team if/when Simpson leaves

1). No one is 'getting on the lads back'. It's an online forum which he doesn't visit.

2). No matter how much effort he puts in, sometimes we just have to accept that he may be a little too raw. For the sake of his own development, there's a possibility that he may be thrown in at the deep end too soon. If this is the case, then perhaps the club should re-evaluate the gametime he's currently getting.

If Sammy has Shola's loyalty to the club, he'll be here for another 15 years plus!! By which time there will probably be another Ameobi waiting to come through the ranks. We are running a secret cloning facilty are we not. Ameobi V1.0, right physically just not much skill, Ameobi V2.0 physically smaller but faster, skil levels appear higher, Ameobi V3.0.....?

It's his attitude. Pardew is proving if you put 100% into training. First one in and last one out kinda idea then you'll be rewarded with game time.

I'd say he sees him as gutierrez's long term replacement where ferguson is left back and vukic through the middle. He knows ben arfa would kick off if vukic got more game time and raylor needs the practice at left back.

He played well against Everton, ran the channels well and put one or two mean balls in. One inparticular was of exceptional quality.
