Good Morning. It's Monday 20th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds victorious in six goal thriller

Leeds climbed to 14th in the table after defeating Wolves in a six goal thriller at Molineux over the weekend. The goal tally tells just half the story; throw in seven yellow cards, two reds, a 40 yard lob and more VAR controversy than you can shake a stick at, and you've got yourself a classic, albeit with a rare happy ending for Yorkshire's finest.

Leeds settled their nerves early on, after Jack Harrison blasted them ahead on six minutes, after great work from Gnonto. The Italian maestro made easy work of Semedo, as he collected the ball on the left wing, before cutting the ball back from the by-line. Harrison skipped past Jonny's diving tackle, before striking the ball first time, into the right hand corner of the net.

They doubled their advantage just after the interval. Roca's corner fell nicely to Luke Ayling, unmarked on the far post. His close range diving header, followed by his trademark cartwheel, and forward roll may not get him into the British gymnastic squad, but it sent 3000 travelling Leeds fans delirious.

Thirteen minutes later Kristensen got in on the act. He had only been on the pitch sixty seconds, when he robbed Jonny of the ball, deep in the Wolves penalty area, after a long hopeful diagonal ball from Harrison. The young Dane twisted and turned past Kilman, before firing Leeds 3-0 up with less than half an hour remaining.

A few minutes later, Wolves gave themselves hope, when Jonny's 40 yard lob reduced the deficit to two, when Meslier got caught in no-mans-land, after coming out of his area to head the ball clear. This was followed very quickly with a second after Cunha's strike took a wicked deflection off Wober. Leeds quickly regrouped, as Wolves threw everything at them for the final 15 minutes.

Their (Wolves) quest for an equaliser went from Ambitious to almost impossible when Jonny received a straight red card for almost breaking Luke Ayling's leg in half with five minutes remaining. To rub salt into the wound, Leeds grabbed a forth deep into stoppage time, when Summerville released Rodrigo on the edge of the penalty area. He skipped past Lemina, before chipping the ball past Sa.

Replays showed that Roca had tugged Traore's shorts in the build up to the goal, which incensed the Wolves bench, leading to a melee, in which unused substitute Matheus Nunez was shown a straight red card.

When did wolves reach to this level of entitlement

When did wolves reach to this level of entitlement. Their behaviour both on and off the pitch at the weekend, not only shows disrespect towards Leeds, but should bring their conduct under review with the FA.
Whilst many fans up and down the County are of the opinion that ref's are out to get em, Leeds would have a stronger case than most to evidence this; yet you don't see them wining about it, to the same degree of their West Midland opponents.

Decisions will not always go your way. If truth be known, Dawson should have been sent off for a second bookable offence during the first half. He was either trying to choke or sexually assault Patrick Bamford, both of which are pretty strong arguments for a booking, but having already received a yellow card, the former Spurs man was let off.

Did they have a strong case for a penalty - debatable! Should they have been given a free kick in the lead up to Leeds fourth goal - probably, but for Julen Lopetegui to verbally attack the officials like he did in his post match press conference, and say he could write a book about decisions that have gone against them is screaming for an FA charge - surely?

    Llorente nightmare continues

Roma may be having second thoughts about purchasing Diego Llorente. With 47 minutes of game time to his name since joining in January, the 29yo made a rare appearance at the weekend as a half time substitute against Lazio. However, 33 minutes later, having gone 1-0 down, the substitute got substituted. In December, Leeds extended his contract to the Summer of 2026 at the cost of £45,000 a week.

A thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Cheltenham rugger and Wolves game. Results just keep coming right. Im not one to moan about referees or VAR too often so when it appears to go our way its basically balancing things out over a 38 game season. Couldn't care less about any of the decisions. Only thing that matters is the final score, be it football rugby or horses <ok>
Not sure Arsenal are going to find us a pushover in the next game either especially if we can nick the first goal

Wolves and Fulham should have the book thrown at them. The petulance of their managers has brought the game into disrepute. If Leeds had done that we would have been done and it took the Premier League minutes to fine Marsch and give him a touchline ban for nothing like the spectacle we saw this weekend.

Wolves over the last couple of seasons have been the worst team for time wasting, kicking the ball away after the whistle, feigning injury and rolling about. Indeed someone actually timed the ball in play for an average football game against Wolves and it was 57 minutes out of 90. The club is a joke and the entitled fans are idiots and need to take a look at themselves.

Saturday Firpo got his studs on the ball ahead of the Wolves player, no penalty. Wolves had no reason to cry, Dawson should have been sent off earlier so they should have been down to 9 men. Traore stopped and then went back in for the ball which he lost to Summerville so the Rodders goal was good and the fed looked at the screen and confirmed it was good, it was actually very well taken too.

Going to be interesting at Arsenal if only to see how we set up. What we do not want is concede four goals.

I'm particularly pleased England won the rugby (I bet on them with a +15 handicap).

Agree Doc, football has let surrounding the officials, ranting and screaming go on for far too long. Kids mimic the abuse.

There are contentious decisions in rugby all the time… the players suck it up because they’re penalised.

Only just seen the mitrovic incident.. ref handled it well - but they should throw the book at the prick.

I really don't understand why the powers that be cannot implement the same as rugby in that only the team captains can approach the referee. Anybody else doing it is carded straight away. Mitrovic should be looking at a very long ban for pushing the ref and the aggressive in your face stance he continued with. The constant surrounding the referee by all teams has to be cut out.

Good morning all. Always better after a win. Would be nice to see Javi start to build some momentum, but going to be difficult to get anything out of Arsenal. Hopefully the international break might knock them out of their stride a bit.

We were fined for next nothing at Everton, so Wolves should definitely have a charge against them for failing to control their players

Upside is that he'll definitely not be playing against us, a nice bonus. Only comparable incident I can think of was Di Canio. Didn't he get a 10 or 11 game ban for his shove on Alcock?

Wolves were just bad losers and were clutching at every straw. Not a pen. I would of said the same if it was for us. 2 red cards for Wolves in that game only 1 given we aren't winging like little bairns. as on the foul its pathetic even if it was a slight tug. Triore regained control of the football and lost it again it was a different phase of the game. goal goal goal simple as. 0 points in the bag shut up and get on with it like we all have too. End of the day you got beat deal with it instead of bubbling over if's and maybe's as nothing was clear cut in their argument. only thing that was clear cut in that game was a certain red card and a 75-80% 2nd one in which Ive seen many times given this season.

Fernandes from scum pushed the linesman when they were getting dismantled at Liverpool. He got away with it and set the precedent.

We'll get fined £10m, relegated, & start next season with a -50 point penalty!

Oops! Fulham you say? Oh, I thought it was us up before the beaks again. Right well, if it's them, it'll be a wee pep talk & a waggy finger. <doh>

Well it is totally our fault that Fulham find themselves in this situation. If we hadn't lost to them in the last round, then there would have been no issue yesterday:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Evening all, biggest problem for Fulham and and lengthy bans, we could really do with them beating a few of our rivals.

Great three points, I’m going to enjoy the International break

You need to start in on Southgate next mate he needs offing. Look how many players are pulling out and no mention of Ben White who told his assistant he would knock him out if he ever spoke to him like that again. Southgate the man who insisted you need to be playing to get selected yet MaGuire, Phillips always in. …. W…anker

As I said earlier, Mitrovich will get a lengthy ban, Fulham will suffer but Fernandes push on a linesman at Anfield is just quietly swept under the carpet. Mitrovich was much worse but you can either put your hands on an official or not. Which is it?

Hope Fulham take the Fernandes footage with them as an example.
