As soon as Chelsea announced they were offering up their stadium for advertisers I had a feeling this would happen, and to be fair even Old Trafford is becoming the DHL coliseum. Problem is, Sports Direct is a **** covenant, if he owned Sony or Adidas I wouldn't care that much.

One positive is that apparently the owl will be talking us through the decision, so at least they've got it through their cowardly thick skulls they can't make massive decisions then run away until it calms down. IF he says that this will lead to direct investment it'd help - whether it happens that is - if all he says is that it's to showcase it to other brands, I will be massively pissed off and patronised, particularly because the ire with which people will react is the worst possible advert to potential suitors. Imagine a huge company, who have perhaps thought about sponsoring a ground, they see thousands of angry Newcastle fans protesting, not going to clinch the deal is it ...

It's a ridiculous idea that was inevitable. Shame, we were doing so well, the press and the naysayers will have a field day. Normal service has resumed....

Being deadly serious here - I wouldn't actually mind Ashley if it weren't for all this Sports Direct ****.

To me this is the stadium equivalent of that annoying bloke who does those windows adverts. He shouts all the way through the thing but he is a ****ing gormless idiot and does not make me want to buy them. I see this doing the same to anyone who sees the lengths Ashley is going to to supposedly try and get sponsors for the stadium.

SPONSOR ST JAMES PARK ON ONE STAND AND GET THE OTHER SIDE FREE!

It'll always be SJP to me. Too long in the tooth anyway to start calling it anything else.

    THIS!

It's only by ****ing with the tradition of the club that he's really made me hate him. I actually quite liked that he stuck it out in the Championship and realised we needed to get promoted (even if it was just for his own financial gain) and also that he's making the club more self sustainable <ok>

Yup. I think the way he is running the club is spot on and I think a lot more clubs will start tightening their belts and clearing off debts in the next few years. But ****ing around with the tradition of the club and the stadium is just plain disrespectful to the fans.

Knowing him I imagine it'll be Tampax. I doubt it'll be anything good. I dunno Anne Summers...
