So here is a big fat positive, our form in the 6 games since RS took charge is better than all our rivals(same points as Everton but better goal difference) in their last 6 games.

    Saints 8 points -1 GD.
    Everton 8 points -4 GD.
    Bournemouth 7 points -5 GD.
    Leeds 7 points -1 GD.
West Ham 6 points -2 GD.
    Leicester 4 points -4 GD.
    Wolves 4 points -5 GD.
    Palace 3 points -6 GD.
    Forest 2 points -9 GD.

Forest are in a bit of freefall after getting themselves in a decent position. Palace too have been struggling, hence Viera has gone.

We have managed to get some clean sheets, goals from open play, more than 1 goal in a game, a JWP penalty, a couple of draws, 4 different goalscorers, we even managed to get a point against a team that went down to 10 men!

All of these things we have previously struggled with all season. Whatever RS is doing, it's working!

One positive is that we will start the season with only one extra team above us in the football pyramid next season. Before the first game anyway.

One positive if we drop a league is that the husband of a friend of my wife will stop asking me to get him tickets every time we play United, City, Liverpool et al. Doesn't seem to matter how politely I tell him to **** off, he still asks. Weird.

I am positive that this thread will really make a comeback next season, I'm looking forward to the Championship already. The Premier League is broken beyond belief!

Judging from overhearing some of the comments walking away from SMS last night, they'll have plenty of company!

If Brighton are paying £30 million for Pedro from Watford, we should get decent money for our shower of ****e as he hasn’t exactly set the championship on fire

That's one of two positive angles I see to the Pedro situation. There's also the fact that Watford managed to hold onto him (and Sarr) for this season.

Proof that relegation doesn't have to mean an immediate fire-sale of anyone with even a hint of resale value or talent. And, as you say, that you still might be able to get good money for someone a year later, should you fail to come straight back up.

Interesting move from Brighton though. £30m signings isn't really their thing. I recall them going quite big on Webster a few years back, but that might be about it.

When Liam Delap scored yesterday, I did find myself thinking it was a positive that our £15m bid for him (or whatever amount it was) was rejected last summer. I think that was only his 4th goal of the season, across two different teams.

Then again, we're so incompetent - and will have an even stronger connection to Man City's kids, through Wilcox - that we'll probably go back in for him again the summer. Maybe for £20m this time...

100% the best result tonight - that’s my positive!

Those who know me on here know that I’m not a negative supporter, but anyone who didn’t understand that we were down weeks (if not months) ago, were kidding themselves.

For me, the last few weeks have all been about who goes with us. Normally I’d be all over the likes of Everton and West Ham going down, but for me I just want the other teams to have less money than us, and that’s Leicester and Leeds. It will be so much harder getting back up with Everton and Forest throwing silly money around.

So all in all, I’m happy with the defeat to Forest tonight, which takes them out of the relegation zone. Apologies if that offends people, but we need to be realistic.

I agree with you, but I think Everton will be totally ****ed if they go down so I’m hoping it’s them over Leicester
