apparently if the ref touches you first you can cup his balls but if not then you sre a sex offender.

    or something like that.

God knows how Howard Webb justify anything.

So why was Bournemouth defender who deliberately blocked Jota goal bound header not sent off last week. He moved his arm to block the effort and only a penalty resulted

I think he works on the principle that if it helps Man U it's fine.

I do not think he did but I am old school on these.

Bournemouth gained a clear advantage from handball in the pen area and it should be penalised as such. the ball is going I to goal and its blocked. give the pen.

no need for cards unless it's obviously deliberate.

having said this there is an absolute difference between a guy gaining advantage on a shot (like they guy who made a ****ing save for West ham) and a ball to arm nothing incidents out wider on say a cross.

this is why it's all about opinion and the only way to clarify this stuff is to come up with some form of punishment for hand ball that's not as severe as a pen but has escalation for deliberateness.

let's face it. lfc won the champions league off a stupid high arm by spurs in the first minutes.

we've seen var award every hand ball as a pen and it was awful.

we need common sense as well.

No denying it was a pen
Surprised that Chris Kavanagh of Greater Manchester chose to send the player off though

that happens all the time and was clear he was trying to keep his arms down and they weren’t really in an unnatural position (I thought it was a pen but by todays guidance who fecking knows)

Although Chris Kavanagh of Greater Manchester was adamant about them which Greatly helped the team from Manchester
    Which is cool <laugh>

I used to work with a man from Greater Manchester who supported Bolton, played cricket for his local Greater Manchester team and was a ref in Greater Manchester armature Rugby league.
Does coming from Greater Manchester hold some significance for you?

I think the same is happening at the top; we're not going to see anyone in the high 90's this season. The table has compressed without us at the top this year to stretch it out.

I was looking at points for Top 4. A decade ago it tended to be 70 points. That dropped for a while. Been less consistent in recent years, but I think it will have to be 70+ to get 4th this year.

I'm thinking 75+ because both Arsenal and City look odds on to be 90+ (unless City drop off to concentrate on the CL). Liverpool's next three games are City, Arsenal and Chelsea. 2 Points at most, probably 1 or 0. Leaves 9 games to get 23 points I reckon. Literally, 7 wins and 2 draws, and no losses. Just isn't going to happen. Even my super-optimistic ex-workmate Red, with whom I went to a retirement do on Saturday, has given up after Bournemouth, and he was telling all and sundry we were going to pull it back in Madrid last week. Even at halftime.

Yep I've been thinking 75+. Which is why I've been keeping an eye on us averaging 2 points per game. We're around that mark and I expect that not to increase for us, maybe even dip if we lose our form.

    bet you it won't.

simple truth. there's a finite number of points on offer. if they are congregating at the bottom of the table them they can't be at the top as well.

spurs and Newcastle and Brighton simply are not good enough to drive it to 70. it'll be 67 this year.
