****ing laughing my head off at Arsenals 4th goal had that been the Toon it would most certainly be called offside in fact Tiote's goal against Man City was less offside than this when Goufran was at 90 degrees angle to Joe Hart when the ball was struck
Thought this season was meant to be the season where refs were shown more respect. It has gradually been escalating through the season and they now need to do something to sort it out. 1. Needs to start with an immediate yellow card for approaching the referee after a decision or while a VAR decision is awaited or players or managers trying to follow the ref to the pitchside monitor. 2. A yellow card for brandishing a virtual yellow card to try and get another player booked. 3. A post-match panel reviewing incidents in a game for evidence of simulation (diving, feigning injury etc) and applying fines and bans, regardless of whether referee has seen them or not. The Arsenal game yesterday was a prime example of some of the issues - Arsenal seem to have developed this attitude that any challenge against them is a foul and are constantly in the referees face when they don't get the decision. Sure some of this stems from the managers (both Silva (Fulham) and Arteta are twats when it comes to moaning and arguing with decisions). There was also some appalling injury feigning - Zaha caught White on his shoulder with his arm in achallenge. Foul given but White goes down holding his face. Panel should review that incident and issue him a yellow card. Trouble is everytime they don't act it escalates. Needs something done now.
Totally agree. Although to apply it, we'd also have to accept that Schar would miss half the season through suspension for feigning injury.
And Pope would be missing most of the time for the length of time he takes on goal kicks. Although having seen his recent attempts at clearing back passes I think he just needs longer than most to set himself up and decide what to do!
Mitro is ****ed it seems, I see an extended ban and Fulham dropping away https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65018262
This is why he'll never reach the level required for a bigger club. He's a red card waiting to happen..... managers can't put up with worrying what he's going to do every minute
Under McClaren yes cos he was a young fireball and McClaren was too much of a **** manager to coach him properly and calm him down. Under Rafa yes, cos they clearly didn't get on, and Rafa didn't have the patience to give him a chance to change. Seemed to have changed massively at Fulham though and got on with the manager and is a hero there. ****ing idiot.
Because their manager is as much an idiot as him. Silva shows absolutely no respect to match officials and other teams. Like Arteta, the attitude rubs off on the players.
