Quoting Dorothy Parker elsewhere on these boards reminded me of a Robert Benchley quote. Having been dispatched by his newspaper to Venice, on arrival he sent them a telegraph: “Streets full of water. Please advise.”
I notice this on a BBC weather report: “Less severe yellow ice and snow warnings cover much of the UK.” Always a concern.
Ours is still severe - until 10:00am, when presumably it will all melt. Then it starts again with an icy blast at 3:00pm tomorrow - coincidentally kick off time against QPR.
It was a pretty chilly wind in the part of Hertfordshire where I work. Then the sun would come out and it would be warm; then sun in, very cold wind… A weird day.
I am between Watford and Northwood and I was doing pruning etc between 3-00 pm and 5-0pm, good to get some fresh air
