I think he needs to go for several reasons…I don’t have much of an issue with playing the counter attacking game…players aren’t great at it tho. His European record is dire. Not sure if out of date tactics is a thing…everyone wants to play like Pep? I find that boring at times. Don’t get me wrong, Conte has not done as great as he should have done…that team against Sheffield Utd should have been good enough to have done the job tho. I don’t buy this excuse that they weren’t match fit…that’s not Contes fault unless he doesn’t get them match fit during training. We had enough to beat them…we didn’t have enough desire though. we don’t have a squad that can challenge on 2 fronts let alone 4…so maybe he and we would do better if we didn’t have Europe either…Europe only plays the role of cash cow…no glory being truly chased on that front….but ultimately its time to part ways with Conte
It was quite a meltdown by Conte. He seemed to overlook the part his negative tactics and selections played. And that he has been backed with funds, even if not to the extent he would wish. He has signed a number of players and had three transfer windows.
Of course you need measures of success on the strategy. I think the objective of the strategy is to win the League. To do that we first have to match others' ability to sign and retain players and that can only be done by growing the income. So my first measure is...is the income growing....tick. But having money isn't much good unless we spend it properly on improving onfield performance. So my second measure is...is our onfield performance measured by league position at least as good as our financial status indicates...tick on that one too. Just about everything else is a matter of opinion and no good for measuring anything. As for your last point....a lower league position indicates a worse team so less chance of winning a cup. There is no strategy that can deliver the outcome you desire. Being in the CL is essential for the medium term.
Having your football club run by accountants and property developers will never be good for delivering success on the pitch. Businessmen make good business decisions, but many of them make poor football decisions. Ours make comically poor football decisions on an industrial scale. It is no wonder we have won 1 paltry League Cup in 24 years. Spurs are Balance Sheet FC and lack proper sporting ambition.
Arsenal's is about £40m higher per season across that period, if not more. They're still about £100m less than Chelsea and City, though.
A short list of clubs run by accountants and/or property developers Arsenal Atletico Madrid Bayer Leverkusen Brighton Hoffenheim Lyon Manchester United PSV Eindhoven Monster Energy Dusseldorf G Fuel Vienna Wolfsburg Note how several of those teams either deliver success on the pitch, or have been cited as a model we should be following at some point in the past twenty years
Which indicates that saying businessmen and/or property developers can run football clubs, thus negating the point you were trying to make
Yes you did "Having your football club run by accountants and property developers will never be good for delivering success on the pitch."
Seems that we need some hungry dedicated players drafted into our team.I can remember a few that would scream at you if you got lazy, even though you were winning by a street. Are those days and players gone?
To be fair, if this is successful then why is levy continuously sacking league managers these past 4 seasons. Clearly it isnt good enough and if it is good enough then its i competence to be sacking them.
That would be the x-factor those managers have X for the rating for the language used to describe their tactical approach
