Frozen Planet makes up for most of the rubbish on BBC. What a show.

I reckon Hansen's £40k per show equates to roughly £5k per cliche.

    pass and move
    grit and determination
    power and pace
    strength and guile
    Passion and determination

    and so on........

Hansen is so consistent with his cliches, you could play Hansen Bingo.

It's a great drinking game. Don't expect to stay sober for much longer than 25 minutes though...

Alan Hansen is one of the most knowledgeable pundits in football. He is earning between £1m and £2m per year. That knobhead Jonathan Ross was on £6m per year, now that can't be right.

They have lost most of the sport that interests me, only Wimbledon remains but no other Grand Slams, Formula 1 is gone. I don't like rugby and they don't have cricket - which I don't like anyway. They don't show anything for black people until 2am on a Saturday night anyway, I detest dramas and soap operas and I have no interest in reality TV.

I think the BBC are paying their people too much money and there is no real reason for me to pay the license fee cos there is nowt I want to watch !!!

I remember Lineker saying he makes more money now from MotD than he ever did as a player, so this doesn't surprise me at all!

Frozen Planet is a great shout btw<ok>

Why is it racist ? I am black a black Londoner so I want to see something that appeals to me. All they show are dramas aimed at white middle classed England.

What would you classify as being a programme for black people?

But claiming that a whole race of people will like a programme purely because you do, is abit racist...

just the same as me saying "why is all music this gangsta rap ****, i'm white, i don't want to listen to that black music!, i want a nice bit of country or jazz"

Something with black people in it :)

Something representative of our lives. Some of us were born here, some of us were not, either way we were brought up in a completely different way to Caucasian English/British people - so it would be nice to actually be able to watch TV shows that reflect this. Its funny how channel 4 seem to be able to show TV programmes containing lots of minorities at sensible viewing hours, the BBC can only do it after 2am on a Saturday. That is bullshine.

Hothead makes some good points. Most of the program(me)s I find are a waste of money.

BUT I am amazed at how few white English (middle years) people appear in BBC news, docs, soaps, music shows, reality..... blah blah.

Its all Irish, Welsh, Scots, Asian, Black, American. AND its single mums, lesbian, gays, deformed or just plain ODD.

What ever happened to catering for the majority audience?

I find there's very few Welsh people on the BBC except for actors doing the stereotypical "hello boyo" accent
I think you'll find the vast majority of people on the BBC are English, middle class and public school educated

    Eh ??

No, I don't speak for black people in general - when did I say I did ? Looks like you are trying to make an argument where none exists, I'll oblige you then.

YES I speak for the majority of black people. Most black people have grown up in similar ways, we have 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation blacks in England (from WW2) and many have a similar story to tell. I am 3rd generation, my mum was 2nd, my gran was 1st. I can tell you, for example, when Hip Hop hit England, lots of us felt an immediate connection with it, it was our music. We grew up watching Top of the Pops but what black music was on there ?? Rock, Pop and other music that you wouldn't associate with black people.

I could go on for ages but its pointless, black people in England have an identity, you cannot put us in the same basket as everyone else. The same goes for Asians, the same goes for Greeks etc etc. Radio 1Xtra acknowledges this, as does London Greek Radio, as does the numerous Asian channels on Satellite/cable TV.
