I'd suggest that Newcastle at least do as well. Not at all, mine will be paid once you can do it in full. To quote a politician though, today is a good day to bury bad news. Times like this you get rid of bad news like increases in prices whilst everyone is distracted, rather than trying to drive sales and get money into the club whilst a lot of fans are down/worrying about what's going on. To get the season tickets moving you get the new manager in and start promoting them on the back of the announcement and use the feel good feeling around it and have a "get behind the club and help provide xxx with a war chest" (you can add that to the cliches thread).
