I remember seeing him score his first goal for Saints at The Dell. I was on duty as a SJAB Cadet sitting on the bench at the corner of Archers Road and the West Stand. What a player, sold for £125000 and we got Frank Saul who if I can remember scored in pretty much every cup tie he played in, but not so much in the League. Happy Days!!
Who on earth was that idiot on the Solent panel this evening? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0f49mpb?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile
I`m back down in Soton, and I`m going to the game. We may not be the most creative, but at least we don`t resort to pinching other clubs songs like Spuds. 2-1 Saints!
Good days.... I like to tell people that I played against him when I played for New Forest Schools v Soton Schools. (Honestly can't remember if that's actually true but I now have no qualms in sexing up a pretty uninspiring life to try to impress that it was more exciting than it actually was!)
It's the day before the match so I'll dive in despite it clearly not being my turn. The things I do for you. With nearly a third of the season left, we find ourselves a couple of points from safety. And whom do we have the pleasure of entertaining on Saturday but the most in and out runners in the history of football, armed with a manager who quite clearly wants away. It's Spurs. So, I can confidently predict a score somewhere between 5-0 to us and 5-0 to them. When you're cowering in fear before kick off, try to bear in mind that their last league title was closer to Queen Victoria being on the throne than it is to today. They are the world's biggest flakers and, as I'm making a rare trip to St Mary's (with FLT, as it happens), I'm hoping for a flake of gargantuan proportions from them. Their delusions of grandeur won't allow them to sit back so they really are there for the taking. Doubtless many will disagree. Discuss.
Hopefully we keep it below 4 and Selles picks a team that isn’t **** for you brave souls that are going. Big respect to anyone that’s brave enough.
I'm a believer Vin, only wish circumstances were such that I could join you and FLT to encourage the singing of "I'd rather clap me hands than wet me bed".
If by that you mean starting Lavia and Theo, I suspect he will, as I do think the reason he didn't start them on Wednesday was so they could play a full ninety on the weekend (or at least Romeo can).
Which was a mistake. You can't look any further ahead than the next game when you're in our situation. Now we're under pressure to get a result tomorrow. I'm not saying starting Lavia would have resulted in a win the other night, but it would have increased our chances.
