They weren't meant to be in a final or be close to top 4 yet , so it'll only be a mistake in the long run if they don't achieve the long term goal.

It was a disappointment but man united just took their chances and newcastle don't.

That'll change though mate let's not forget there was zero hope for 15 years.

I don't need the same line repeated at me like 85 times a day of 'we were **** for 20 years', we know we were.

Not meaning to be in a cup final is lols. We were in one so the meaning behind it is utter nonsense.

We should have played better, we collapsed in 5 mins

I didn't think it was too bad given they played a side bang in form who's just defeated Barcelona the same week.

I just think they've overcheived rather than as you say fell apart or made a mistake.

There must be something in the water but I'm one of the positive people now.

Win today would see another big opportunity vs man united next game.. maybe they'll take that one.

It's a good season and I'm happy were we are

But it don't mean you can just "the final is nothing cos we over achieved"

We haven't won a trophy since Joseph Stalin was alive

Cept of course for the prestigious texico cup

We could wait a long time yet before winning a cup . I would think we'll lose a good few later round games and suffer a few more painful ones before getting that amazing day

I just meant ****ed us getting top 4, which I feel we could of been out of sight had we won some of those games. I never in a million years expected us to get top 4 at the start of the season but with spurs, pool and chelsea all been ****e can’t help but feel it’s a massive opportunity we’ll have missed should we fail.

be much much more of a grind next season and beyond. Could have catapulted our way to the elite but just a lot quicker which suits an inpatient ****er like me, lol.

Dunno like newcastle despite the recent panic have only lost to Man City and Liverpool

Brighton are definitely capable of it though

Top 4 still very much on, games in hand, and Spurs and Liverpool are too erratic and unpredictable to make it unachievable for us.

I assume Chelsea and Liverpool will up their standards next season, as this has to be one of the weakest Premierships in memory, but then we will improve too.

And Brighton is way out on the horizon (game wise and geographically...)

They are very good, game will be tough but we can win

If they win tonight and take at least a point vs man united I'd say top 4 goes from an outside chance to a chance.

Lose tonight and It's pretty much gone...

Nothings gone tonight, still twists and turns to go.

Ie after Liverpool annihilated Man U, everyone thought they go on a run and be sure of top 4...then they follow that by losing to Bouremouth.

Suicidal Mystic Meg at the ready once again <doh>

A few weeks ago it looked all gone, now it's all to play for again. 1 game out of 13 remaining does not determine anything.

They'd get 4 points behind Spurs mate ... they'd have won like 1 game in about 9* not sure on number.

It's just reality if they lose mate , but tbh I think Newcastle will win tonight.

The "bad run" ie since the Leicester Boxing Day victory, was P9 W2 D5 L2....hardly crisis central.

We played much better against Wolves and should have won by more, and Forest have a ton of injuries and are likely to have Shelvey playing, so omens are good.

Not a crisis nobody is saying its a crisis, but it's reasonable to suggest they will fall short of top 4.

I don't think it'll be long before Chelsea are in the pack if newcastle don't get something tonight .

You keep saying yourself there's plenty games left and newcastle haven't been winning games, so tonight imo will be key.

They've won 1 game in about 8 mate so they have to win tonight. The point I'm making is they have to win most of the remaining games to finish 3rd or 4th and the form is nowhere near that.

No, they've won 2 in 7 in the league, and of those games they've also drawn 3 of them.

3rd is still mathematical possible, but unlikely considering Man U's form....yes Liverpool mangled them but I can see them getting back on form...if we beat them in a few weeks we have a chance though.

In terms of 4th, no match is the be all and end all yet, cos Liverpool and Spurs just ain't that consistent. I think we'll win tonight as confidence is back with us and Forest aren't all that....but it definitely isn't a full on high pressure must win or bust situation.
